Cyrodiil is a huge province to explore in Oblivion Remastered, with several locations popping up as you visit them. The game makes it easier for players to quickly move from one location to another through fast travel. Players can unlock fast travel as soon as they leave the sewer tutorial area and step into the open world of Oblivion Remastered. So, let's check out how you can do it and which scenarios restrict you from fast traveling.
How To Fix Oblivion Remastered Crashing On PC
Oblivion Remastered is randomly crashing for some players on PC, and here are a few fixes that can help fix the issue.
How to Fast Travel in Oblivion Remastered
Fast travel is one of the most useful features in Oblivion Remastered, which lets you quickly reach far-off places in a matter of seconds. Unlike traditional games where fast travel is either an upgrade, costs resources, or is limited to a few areas, players can fast travel to any map marker in Oblivion.
First, you'll need to use your horse and explore the map to uncover landmarks and waypoints on the map. Once you've got them unlocked, simply click on the waypoint's icon, and you'll get a prompt to confirm the fast travel location. Once players confirm, after a brief loading time, they'll arrive at the selected location immediately.
This is a great way to move back and forth between multiple locations for a quest, without getting bored with traveling along the same roads.
If you're not seeing the fast travel prompt on the map, try zooming slightly on the icon and clicking on it again.
Situations When You Can't Use Fast Travel
Even though fast travel unlocks early in Oblivion Remastered, there are certain situations where this functionality isn't available. Let's go over what those are and how you can work around them.
- Inside a Dungeon or a Building: When players enter a building or a dungeon like Ayelid Ruins or Caverns, fast traveling becomes temporarily disabled from those locations. To fast travel again, you'll need to exit into the open and try again.
- Over-Encumbered Status: If players carry too many items, exceeding their character's weight capacity, they'll become over-encumbered. This status doesn't allow players to sprint, let alone fast travel. Try dropping some useless items on the ground to remove over-encumbrance, and then fast travel to the desired location.
- Enemies Nearby: Fast traveling also gets disabled when there are enemies nearby. You'll need to take those enemies out or run far away from them to enable fast travel again. Try using Detect Life spells to identify enemy locations if you're unsure.
-
Vampirism: If players have become a Vampire in Oblivion Remastered, they can do everything like normal at night. However, under the sun, you'll get damage over time, which disables the fast-travel feature. The best recommendation is to either find a
Cure for Vampirism
or simply seek shelter to pass the time.
