How To Start Lifting the Vale Quest In Oblivion Remastered

Lifting the Vale Quest Walkthrough In Oblivion Remastered 1

To start this quest, you must fast travel to Bruma. As you explore the city, visiting the different guild buildings and doing quests, Tolgan might approach you, informing you that Countess Narina Carvain wants to see you. He will also give you 25 Gold as a stipend to show you what is more to come. However, if Tolgan does not approach you, you can hear rumours from the guards and townsfolk, and one of them might notify you that the Countess is looking for help locating an artifact.

Head to Bruma Castle and talk to the Countess, who will tell you that she is a collector of Akaviri relics and wants your help finding the Draconian Madstone. She will tell you the location of the Madstone is at the ruins of Pale Pass. Talk to her further to acquire the Akaviri Diary Translation, which guides you the whole way to Pale Pass.

How To Reach Pale Pass In Oblivion Remastered

Make your way to the Dragonclaw Rock, which is marked on your map. Once you reach the location, you can read the Diary Translation if you want to do this part yourself. If you want to reach the location quicker and don't want to bother reading it, then simply head west and go up the mountain. You will soon spot a large Sentinel statue, after which you must make your way north. There will be a few enemies along the way until you reach the Serpent's Trail.

Inside the cave-like area, you must follow the somewhat linear path, making your way further inside. As you are close to the end, a quest update message will pop up, saying that you found the body of the messenger. Look around for a skeleton with the Akaviri Orders, which you must grab before leaving this place. As you exit the Serpent's Trail, you will find yourself in Pale Pass.

Where To Find The Draconian Madstone In Oblivion Remastered

After reaching Pale Pass, head down the snowy valley going north until you reach two statues marking the entrance to the ruins of Pale Pass, and you will be able to spot Fort Pale Pass in the distance. Head towards it, and on the ground floor, you can find an old wooden door leading to the Serpent's Mouth. Inside the ruins, you will find several undead Akaviri, so keep your guard up. Follow the marker along the linear path, which will eventually lead you to the door marked Eyes of the Serpent.

Continue to follow the marker, dealing with any undead enemies you come across. Soon, you will reach a door marked Fangs of the Serpent, which is the second-to-last gate before reaching the amulet. Head inside the room, and you will come across a handle that lowers the drawbridge upon activation.

Be careful of the traps here, such as the arrow pillar on the side.

As you make your way across the bridge, you will come upon the Venom of the Serpent. Head up the stairs and talk to Akaviri Commander Mishaxhi, and choose the first option, which mentions the "orders." Doing so will complete the Akaviri’s final mission, opening the stone wall ahead.

How To Find Ring of Vipereye In Oblivion Remastered

Go forward and open the chests on the side, which should give you quite a bit of gold. On top of the stone pedestal, you can find the Draconian Madstone. Grab it, turn around, and take the path on the left. Activate the switch and jump down to the bridge. Make your way outside the ruins and fast travel back to Bruma to talk to the Countess. She will be surprised you got the amulet for her, completing the quest and rewarding you with the Ring of Vipereye.
