An Oblivion Remastered player highlights an easy way to level up one's magic skills by using the Atronach birthsign's Spell Absorption. Birthsigns have long been a staple of The Elder Scrolls franchise, and while a few of them were rebalanced for Oblivion Remastered, the Atronach birthsign remains the same as it was in 2006. Whereas birthsigns are meant to be passive bonuses that define a build in Oblivion Remastered, the Atronach birthsign takes a step further by completely altering the way players approach Magicka.
In exchange for giving them a significantly bigger Magicka pool, Atronach players in Oblivion Remastered cannot regenerate Magicka normally. However, they are also granted a 50% passive bonus to Spell Absorption. As a mechanic, every time Spell Absorption gets triggered by the player, their Magicka pool gets restored proportional to the energy of the absorbed spell. This can sometimes be used with friendly spells to provide Atronachs with a way to restore Magicka, such as the Lucky Old Lady statue in Bravil.
Oblivion Remastered Players Can Never Worry About Weapons Again With One Quest
Oblivion Remastered has many quests worth doing, and one of them awards one of the best items in the game, removing worries regarding weapons.
However, the method shown by orangelemonk takes place in a far more dangerous environment – that of an Ayleid ruin. By absorbing the spell cast by a Dark Welkynd Stone, orangelemonk was able to indefinitely level up their Conjuration by casting Summon Skeleton, an Apprentice spell available to all Oblivion players who chose Conjuration as a major skill. In theory, players can use this method to level any magic skill except Destruction, especially after the changes made to leveling in Oblivion Remastered.
Oblivion Remastered Player Uses Spell Absorption to Level Magic Skills
It is generally agreed that the Atronach and the Lord are the two most powerful Birthsigns in Oblivion Remastered, though the former comes with some important caveats to consider. While players can use Welkynd Stones to fully restore their Magicka, the Atronach birthsign only reaches its full potential when paired with Alchemy in Oblivion Remastered. A player who invests in leveling their Alchemy skill can craft powerful potions that completely negate the Atronach's stunted Magicka regeneration, allowing them to enjoy the 50% Spell Absorption with no drawbacks whatsoever.
A great recipe for a Restore Magicka potion uses Flax Seeds and Bog Beacon Asco Caps, providing Magicka regeneration and Shield while only requiring Journeyman in Alchemy. Flax Seeds can be found in abundance all across the West Weald, around the city of Skingrad. On the other hand, Bog Beacon Asco Caps can be collected in Blackwood near Leyawiin. Given that players can fast travel to these Oblivion cities immediately after exiting the sewers, it allows aspiring Atronachs to gain an easy start in managing their Magicka.
