How To Get Paraffinium In No Man's Sky

Paraffinium is used to craft many things in No Man's Sky, including Aronium, Star Bramble, and Ammonia. It is also used to build, repair, and upgrade. Here are all the ways to get or make it.

Refining To Get Paraffinium

Using a Portable Refiner with Carbon for fuel, players can produce Paraffinium by refining other resources. Some of these recipes only produce 1 Paraffinium, while others have higher yields, though often with rarer resources.

For the Remnant Expedition, Pyrite Deposits are everywhere, and Ferrite Dust can be farmed from many rocks, so this is the easiest way to get Paraffinium during the mission. There aren't any Paraffinium Deposits here as the planet is too barren.

During the Expedition, you are given a Personal Refiner in your inventory, meaning you can refine on the go.

Paraffinium Can Be Bought From Galactic Trade Terminals

Galactic Trade Terminals can be found at Space Stations. Occasionally, they may sell Paraffinium for Units. These terminals are found on the lower level of the Space Station, beneath where all the upgrades can be purchased.

Paraffinium's base value is 85 Units.

Paraffinium Can Be Found On Tropical Planets

Paraffinium in its natural state can be found on tropical or lush planets. Scan planets before arriving with C, and it will hopefully be listed as one of the local resources.

After arriving at the planet, you can use the Analysis Visor (F) to search for Paraffinium Deposits. Equip the Terrain Manipulator by cycling through the Multi-Tool with G. Then use it to mine the deposit.

Other than deposits, Paraffinium will occasionally be found in other minerals. Scanning these with the Analysis Visor reveals what resources will be gained from farming them.
