Daidara Bocchi is a huge yokai that has been sealed a long time ago by a shrine inside Horie's Castle in Nioh 3. Upon arriving at Lake Hamana, it's the players' job to figure out a way to seal it again, which is done by completing the Disaster at Hamana Lake Myth. Here's how to calm Daidara Bocchi in Nioh 3.
How To Get Samurai And Ninja Locks In Nioh 3
Players need to keep an eye out while exploring to get some locks that'll help unlock new skills in Nioh 3.
How To Trigger Disaster At Lake Hamana Myth In Nioh 3
The moment players step into Lake Hamana for the first time, an enormous yokai will emerge from the water and attack them. Nekomata will appear and ask players to find a way to calm Daidara Bocchi, the yokai, as it's too dangerous. This will start the Disaster at Lake Hamana Myth in Nioh 3.
From the lake's entrance, head right to get closer to the demon. Players need to proceed forward towards the faraway archway while evading Daidara's attacks. There will be other small enemies along the way, and it's safe to ignore them as they could die by Daidara's attack. You can hide behind rocks in small golden craters scattered around the area, but not for long, as the yokai can destroy the cover protecting you.
How To Calm Daidara Bocchi In Nioh 3
To calm Daidara Bocchi in Nioh 3, players must climb to the highest peak of Horie Castle and return the stone to its place. Make sure to go between the two tall rocks, as this is where the archway leading to the castle is hidden. Activate the Shrine and head left. There are some enemies along the way, so be sure to take care of them as they will follow you.
Upon entering the destroyed Horie Castle, take care of the yokai blocking the way to proceed to the lower floor. Near the docks and the boats, there are even more enemies. After defeating them, head upstairs and interact with the Shrine. You can rest or level up if there is enough Amrita as there's a tough fight coming up.
From the Shrine's location, turn left as the door ahead is locked. Players will find another big enemy blocking the entrance to the building, and they need to be defeated. Inside, you can rest in a Hot Spring behind one of the doors if needed. Before proceeding past the enemy, turn around and unlock the shortcut back to the Shrine.
Kill the enemy feasting on the corpse and prepare for a fight. Players can always use an Ochoko Cup to summon a friendly NPC in Nioh 3 to help if there are any nearby Benevolent Graves. You probably encountered this yokai before, but this is the stronger version. Defeat it and head upstairs.
How To Complete Disaster At Lake Hamana Myth In Nioh 3
On the pedestal, it seems that something is missing. By searching the nearby body and listening to their final thoughts, players can gain information about the Shrine's Keystone. This item is most likely what was used to seal Daidara Bocchi. From the body, go left and approach the Lesser Crucible. Defeat the wave of enemies and break the Crucible to remove it. The Shrine's Keystone is seen at the top of the stairs.
Hold the Keystone and walk back all the way to the pedestal.
Upon placing it in its spot, Daidara Bocchi stops attacking and sinks back beneath the lake, successfully sealed.
This completes Disaster at Lake Hamana quest in Nioh 3, and you will get many rewards, including Daidara Bocchi Soul Core and a Ninja's Locks.
Placing the core in the Yang position allows you to summon Daidara Bocchi's head to unleash a strong attack that might knock enemies prone. Putting the core in the Yin position gives you the Sloth Talisman, which can hinder enemies' movement.
Completing the Disaster at Hamana Lake will also unlock Horie's Fleeting Petals sub-quest in the Battle Scroll section at the Shrine.
