Crucible Wraiths are powerful versions of the normal enemies that players will come across in Nioh 3. Defeating these enemies gives a Soul Core, and players will need these if they intend to collect all the Talisman and Summoning Seal options.
After increasing the exploration level in a region, these are marked on the map, but they are one of the collectibles that are not needed for a trophy or achievement. There are 8 Crucible Wraiths in the Heian era, and the Nioh 3 guide below lists all of their locations.

All Heian Crucible Wraiths in Nioh 3
Kamo Village
- Recommended Level: 57
From the Kamo Village Shrine, turn around and head west and go up the Spirit Vein. Behind you on your left will be a One-Eyed Oni along with the Crucible Wraith.

- Recommended Level: 62
From the Horiike of Arashiyama Shrine, look south on your minimap to find a few bodies, and a Karasu Tengu will drop from the sky. Defeat it to get this collectible.

After reaching the Matsuo-taisha Shrine: Ascetic Cave, head down the path. Turn right at the end, and you will find a Tori Gate in front of you. Ignore that for now and look to the right of it to spot some bamboo you can break and go further into to find the Crucible Wraith.
Hachijo
- Recommended Level: 73
From the Nishiichi Shrine in Hachijo, go straight and up the Spirit Vein. You now need to get on top of the broken house up ahead that has a Kappa on top, who is the Crucible Wraith.

Turn around from Rajomon: Mibu Avenue Shrine and go down the ladder. You can find the Crucible Wraith near the plants.
Rokuhara
- Recommended Level: 77
Go up the ladder near the Yasaka Shrine: Nishiro Gate, and go straight. Turn left, and you will spot a pagoda up ahead. Make your way to the entrance, dealing with all the Yokai along the way, but do not enter the pagoda. Instead, head right to find the Crucible Wraith near the tree.
Rokuhara
- Recommended Level: 77
From the Gion Grove Shrine, turn around and drop down. On your right are some icicles that you can break and go through to find a One-Eyed Oni.
Palace Grounds
- Recommended Level: 86
The final Crucible Wraith is located inside the Palace Grounds during the main story mission, Frozen City, Blazing Tree. This is inside the Crucible, so if you missed this, you will have to replay the mission through the Battle Scroll.
