The Nintendo Wii is one of the most beloved and successful consoles of all time, with its emphasis on motion controls and casual games making it an instant hit among families. It helped that Nintendo absolutely bombarded the games with so many quality titles that most players were never starved when it came to good games on this console.
Most people would assume that the dated nature of this console means that the majority of titles have aged pretty poorly when it comes to visuals. However, these people should know that Nintendo games have a habit of aging pretty well regardless of when they're released with the following Wii titles being proof of this.
10 Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy is considered by many to be the best Mario game to date. Even the immense success of Super Mario Odyssey didn't unseat this title from its lofty pedestal in the eyes of many.
The imaginative gameplay of Galaxy coupled with its wonderful world made for a great time that Mario fans absolutely adore. The remastered variant of this title on Switch is absolutely beautiful despite having little to no visual improvements whatsoever.
9 The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Speaking of Wii titles that were remastered on the Nintendo Switch, another game that deserves a mention is Skyward Sword. The title might've divided fans down the line upon release, but there's no denying that the visuals were a joy to behold.
Just like Super Mario Galaxy, only the most minimal touches were required to modernize this title for a new generation of gamers. It's a testament to how bright and appealing the art style of Skyward Sword really is, while Twilight Princess' darker tone made its visuals relatively poorly...albeit only just.
8 Metroid Prime Trilogy
Metroid Prime is one of the best video game trilogies that anyone can check out. No one expected a shift to first person to work so well for the Metroid series, proving once again that Nintendo really is a master of making great video games.
It helps that the great art style of the Metroid Prime trilogy makes them infinitely playable to this day, With Metroid Prime 4 being a reality, fans can't wait to see how the series evolves after a pretty lengthy hiatus.
7 Xenoblade Chronicles
Xenoblade Chronicles is the first game in a series that has quickly become one of the biggest and most beloved JRPGs on the Nintendo Switch. Fans love the incredible world design of this title and its great gameplay, with the story being a notable highlight as well.
The first outing of this series on the Wii was a runaway success, with the game's visuals still looking great to this day. As of right now, the future of Xenoblade Chronicles is pretty bright and is constantly dishing out hit after hit.
6 Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3
There are so many Dragon Ball Z games out there, and not all of them are as great as they should be. However, most people agree that the Budokai Tenkaichi fighting games are absolutely stellar in every way.
The third game in the series features the most improvements and is a blast to play through, with its iteration on the Wii also being quite welcomed by the majority of the fanbase. It helps that the cel-shaded visuals are a treat to enjoy and infinitely playable to this day.
5 Okami
Okami is a game that didn't really perform all that well commercially upon launch. It's a shame since the title itself was fairly unique and featured great gameplay that fans looking for a different experience would've enjoyed.
Controlling Amaterasu and using his Celestial Brush to both solve puzzles and defeat enemies makes for a great time. The reason why this game has aged well is because of its amazing art style, combining both watercolors and cel shading to make for an amazing experience.
4 Punch-Out!!
Punch-Out!! Is another celebrated Nintendo series that has churned out hit after hit. Punch-Out!! On the Wii is the last mainline entry in the series to come out, and fans are pretty saddened by the fact that this series hasn't been represented on a modern console to date.
That being said, Punch-Out!! On the Wii is a brilliant and tough game that will test a player's reflexes to the very limit. It helps that the cartoonish art style looks extremely pleasant and is still a blast to play through even now.
3 MadWorld
Just like Okami, MadWorld is another artistic title that failed to perform well commercially. It's a shame since the game's black-and-white art style really helped its combat pop whenever the red shade of blood accompanied some brutal moves.
It was one of the few mature titles on the Wii, making it a gamble that didn't really pay off in terms of sales. However, MadWorld has become somewhat of a cult classic that many people go out of their way to play nowadays, meaning that it's certainly had the impact that its creators wanted.
2 No More Heroes
No More Heroes is one of the most bizarre and engaging titles on the Wii that players should definitely check out. The game genuinely feels like a fever dream at times, and that statement isn't meant to be derogatory at all.
Suda51's trademark eccentricities are on full display in this title, with Travis Touchdown being a pretty entertaining protagonist as well. As is the case with most of the games on this list, the game's visuals have aged well because they're cel-shaded and a peach to look at!
1 Rayman Origins
It's a shame that Ubisoft hasn't released a Rayman game for quite some time, choosing to focus the bulk of their attention on big-budget AAA open-world experiences instead. After all, these great platformers are full to the brim with character, with Rayman Origins being a great chapter in this series' legacy.
The beautiful and cartoonish graphics of this title were praised at the time and have aged quite well, as is to be expected from such an imaginative art style. With the gameplay being quite brilliant as well, it's easy to see why Rayman Origins was an instant hit upon launch.
