The Nintendo Switch Online service is adding three games that were previously only released in Japan, bringing them to the West for the very first time. These three titles are Kirby's Star Stacker, Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day, and Joy Mech Fight, which were released on the SNES and NES systems. Alongside these three titles, Nintendo revealed an another Game Boy game is being added to the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service.

The Nintendo Switch Online service has been expanding its library of classic titles throughout the past few years. For example, the Expansion Pack tier of the service recently added ExciteBike 64, giving Nintendo fans the chance to play the N64 classic racer with the added benefit of online multiplayer. The first tier of the service has also been getting a steady stream of games, such as adding the Game Boy The Legend of Zelda Oracle duology this past July. More knowledgeable Nintendo fans might get a kick out of these previously Japanese exclusive games being added to the service.

These four games are available now to play in the latest NSO update, with two NES games, one SNES game, and one Game Boy game. One of the most notable ones is a Kirby game that was released on the Super Famicom known as Kirby's Star Stacker. This was a remake of the original Kirby's Star Stacker on Game Boy that was released only in Japan. While it was ported to various systems via Virtual Console, the NSO release is the first time this version of the game has been released in the West.

The two Japan-only NES games that were added are known as Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day and Joy Mech Fight. The former is an action sports spin-off of the Kunio-kun series (River City Ransom in the West) where four players compete to earn points in various athletic events. Joy Mech Fight was one of Nintendo's attempts at creating a fighting game, made to capitalize on the success of Capcom's Street Fighter 2. The main character of Joy Mech Fight, Sukapon, even made it into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an assist trophy.

Like other previously Japan exclusive titles added to the service, the aforementioned three titles can only be played in Japanese, with no English translation. The last game added in this update is a rather understated Game Boy game known as Quest for Camelot by Titus Interactive. It is a licensed action RPG that is based on the 1998 animated Warner Bros. Film of the same name.

Quest for Camelot, Kirby's Star Stacker, Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day, and Joy Mech Fight, are available now for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
