Nintendo has officially announced a major milestone for the Switch 2, with the new system selling more than six million units by July 24. The Nintendo Switch 2 keeps smashing records for the company, with a successful worldwide release.

Nintendo states that its new Switch 2 console launch has set an all-time company record within the first few days of its worldwide release.

As officially revealed by Nintendo, the Switch 2 has pulled off another sales milestone, selling over 5.82 million units to retailers by June 30 and more than six million units to consumers by July 24. Moreover, a total of 8.67 million Switch 2 software units were sold as of June 30, 2025. The company also revealed the sales numbers for Mario Kart World, with 5.53 million units sold worldwide.

While the new system is doing well, the good old record-breaking Switch 1 continues to increase its numbers, with Nintendo also reporting that it sold 153.10 million units worldwide by June 30. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still the Switch’s best-selling game, with 68.86 million units sold, while a total of 1,415.63 million Switch games have been sold worldwide.

The Switch 2’s still got a long road ahead before it can catch up to the monster numbers of its predecessor. But Nintendo is pulling out all the stops, and the latest Nintendo Direct revealed plenty of exciting new Switch 2 games coming soon. Among some of the standout titles expected in the upcoming months are Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles, Persona 3 Reload, and a brand-new entry in the Octopath Traveler franchise.

On top of this, the recently released Donkey Kong Bananza has topped the Amazon sales charts, pushing the console’s success even higher. As Nintendo continues working to bring new games to the Switch 2, players have a lot to look forward to in what’s left of 2025.
