One such conspiracy theory has popped up thanks to a tweet promoting the upcoming Switch exclusive game Mario & Luigi: Brothership. The tweet shows Mario and Luigi launching onto a landmass, with Mario nailing the landing and Luigi falling head-first into the ground. The video's caption is "10/10 landing," clearly a joke about Luigi's botched landing attempt, but some fans have taken this as a hint that October 10 (10/10) will be the surprise reveal date for the Switch 2. This is certainly possible, but fans definitely shouldn't take this tweet as evidence in favor of that theory. It's a reach for sure, and as always, it's better to keep one's expectations in check when it comes to these things.

Tweet Leads to Switch 2 Reveal Date Theory

That being said, there are rumblings that the Switch 2 reveal could happen at some point this month, with the console poised to launch at some point in early 2025. Others have claimed that Nintendo is waiting to reveal the Switch 2 until 2025 rolls around, giving the original Switch a clear runway for the holiday shopping season and potentially giving it the chance to beat the PS2 and become the best-selling video game console of all time.

Regardless, if the Switch 2 reveal happens on October 10, some other day this month, or a completely unexpected time, it's not unreasonable to assume that the unveiling will happen within the next six months. As for when the Switch 2 console release date will be, that's also up in the air. The original Switch launched in March 2017, so maybe Nintendo will look to do something similar with its next console. Alternatively, it could wait to ship the device until the next holiday shopping season. Until Nintendo decides to provide more information, all fans can do is speculate.
