The long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is just days away, and fans still don't know exactly what they're going to see during it. It's very likely, however, that Nintendo will reveal at least a handful of games that will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.
Nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, but there have been a ton of leaks and rumors surrounding what games could appear during the Nintendo Switch 2's release window, from first-party titles like the already-teased Mario Kart 9, to alleged third-party games like Assassin's Creed Mirage and even Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It also seems very likely that, much like its predecessor, the Nintendo Switch 2 will quickly become a home for indie games, and there's one upcoming title that could be a surprisingly great fit for Nintendo's next hybrid console.
Predicting Nintendo Switch 2's Price
A deep dive into the Nintendo Switch 2 arrives next month, and the planned price of the console remains of its biggest mysteries.
PowerWash Simulator 2 Would Be a Great Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Title
PowerWash Simulator 2's Chill Gameplay Loop Is a Perfect Fit for the Switch 2
Released fully back in July 2022, PowerWash Simulator is a chill first-person sim developed by UK-based indie studio, FuturLab. In PowerWash Simulator, players take on the role of a cleaner tasked with clearing up the town of Muckingham. To do just that, players need to remove the dirt from every inch of the environment using the various washing tools at their disposal.
Players progress from small jobs like cleaning a van to much larger-scale endeavors like cleaning an entire skatepark. As they progress, players will earn cash that can be used to purchase new tools and upgrades that make them much more efficient cleaners. Given the slow and methodical nature of PowerWash Simulator's gameplay loop, it can be a surprisingly relaxing experience, and one that's perfectly suited to short play-sessions, thus making it an ideal game for a handheld console like the Nintendo Switch.
FuturLab recently announced that a sequel, simply titled PowerWash Simulator 2, is coming out in late 2025. Based on the announcement trailer, it seems that PowerWash Simulator 2 will feature the same general gameplay loop as its predecessor, albeit with plenty of new features such as a new customizable hub area and new equipment and upgrades. If it's anything like the first game, PowerWash Simulator 2's gameplay loop would be a natural fit for the Nintendo Switch 2, and it'd be a great experience to have on the console during its release window.
When PowerWash Simulator 2 was first announced, Eurogamer reported that it would be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 at launch. Developer FuturLab quickly sent a retraction and provided the following statement: "Whilst we would like to release on Switch 2, there are no current firm plans. We have no timeframe or news there."
PowerWash Simulator 2's Co-Op Features Would Be Great for The Switch 2's Launch
One of PowerWash Simulator 2's biggest additions is split-screen co-op. A major selling point of the original Switch was its ability to offer split-screen co-op anytime and anywhere, and that's likely to be something its successor carries forward. PowerWash Simulator 2's split-screen co-op could be a great showcase of the Nintendo Switch 2's larger screen.
