Nintendo's latest financial report saw the company highlight 10 of its biggest first-party games on the horizon for the Nintendo Switch 2 alongside six third-party releases. The Switch 2 has proven to be a massive success for Nintendo. The company's latest home console/handheld hybrid has already cleared 10 million units sold, causing Nintendo to update its hardware sales forecast.
A video game console is only as good as its games, and so Nintendo made sure that the Switch 2 had some major titles available right out of the gate. The Switch 2's flagship launch title was the acclaimed Mario Kart World, which was quickly followed up by the release of the huge 3D platformer adventure Donkey Kong Bananza. Two more Switch 2 exclusives are set to launch this month, and many more major first-party games are on the way.
Nintendo recently highlighted its slate of upcoming first-party games for the Switch 2, with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment launching November 6 and Kirby Air Riders releasing November 20. Cross-gen game Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will come to Switch 2 on December 4 with massive enhancements compared to the Switch 1 version, including improved frame rate and resolution, while the beloved Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting a Switch 2 version on January 15, 2026.

- Kirby Air Riders - November 20
- Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - December 4
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - January 15, 2026
- Mario Tennis Fever - February 12, 2026
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park - Spring 2026
- Yoshi and the Mysterious Book - Spring 2026
- Pokemon Pokopia - 2026
- Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave - 2026
- Splatoon Raiders - TBA
Early 2026 has been mapped out for the Switch 2 when it comes to first-party games. Mario Tennis Fever is on the schedule for February 12, while the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder is coming in the spring. Switch 2 owners can also look forward to playing Yoshi and the Mysterious Book this spring as well.
The intriguing Pokemon meets Minecraft game Pokemon Pokopia is also coming in 2026, as is Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, but neither have solid release windows at the time of this writing. Notably, the Splatoon Raiders single-player game was also highlighted by Nintendo, but it currently has a "TBA" release date. While it seems likely that Splatoon Raiders will still release for the Switch 2 in 2026, the TBA designation leaves the door open for it to slip to 2027.
In the same financial report, Nintendo also took the time to spotlight some of the Switch 2's more notable third-party releases and tease what's coming for the console. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, the Dragon Quest 7 remake, the Yakuza 3 remake, Resident Evil Requiem, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, and The Duskbloods are all coming in the relatively near future.
Major Upcoming Switch 2 Third-Party Games
- Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade - January 22, 2026
- Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined - February 5, 2026
- Resident Evil Requiem - February 27, 2026
- Yakuza Kiwami 3 - 2026
- Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition - 2026
- The Duskbloods - 2026
The Switch 2 launched with strong third-party support, and that momentum will continue in 2026. Perhaps the most notable third-party release coming to the console next year is The Duskbloods from FromSoftware. The first game developed by Hidetaka Miyazaki since Elden Ring, The Duskbloods looks like a multiplayer take on Bloodborne. Not only that, but it is going to be released as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.
There's still a lot left to be revealed when it comes to the Switch 2's 2026 lineup. Q1 has been fleshed out, but we have no confirmation about what to expect from the summer or fall yet. More information on that front should come to light at various Nintendo Direct events next year. Nintendo fans may also want to make sure that they tune in to The Game Awards on December 11 just in case there are more Switch 2 announcements, and they should definitely mark their calendars for Pokemon Day on February 27, as that's when the Generation 10 Pokemon games are expected to be revealed.
