Another Nintendo Direct is scheduled for later today, July 31. The event, broadcast via Nintendo's regular channels, will mark the company's first Partner Showcase in nearly a year.

As is usually the case, the upcoming Nintendo Direct was announced exactly 24 hours in advance. It's scheduled to kick off at 6m PDT / 9am EDT / 3pm CET / 10pm JST.

Nintendo Releases Second Switch 2 Update for July 2025

Nintendo releases the second Switch and Switch 2 update for July 2025, which reportedly resets at least one user-defined setting.

The showcase will be broadcast on the YouTube channels of Nintendo of America and the company’s other regional branches, including those in Australia, Spain, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Each of those broadcasts will be subtitled in its respective channel's target language, as is usually the case. The showcase itself was pre-recorded, but its YouTube Premiere will have the live chat feature enabled.

Where to Watch Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase

The July 31 broadcast is planned to run for approximately 25 minutes, with a Nintendo representative confirming as much in the lead-up to the event. After the livestream concludes, a video-on-demand version will remain available on YouTube, one for each channel that will be hosting the livestream itself. Nintendo typically does not disclose showcase lineups in advance, and this event is no exception. However, with the broadcast labeled a Partner Showcase, it is guaranteed to be exclusively focused on third-party games for the Switch 2 and its predecessor.

The event's ratio of cross-gen and Switch 2 games may lean toward the latter, though it is still expected to include numerous titles available on the previous-generation console. The Switch 2 is less than two months old, whereas its predecessor—having sold over 152 million units as of early 2025—is nearing the title of the best-selling console of all time. As a result, third-party publishers are unlikely to move on from the platform in the near future. On the contrary, its vast install base is expected to keep it relevant for years, with Nintendo Directs likely to keep featuring the original Switch for the foreseeable future.

While the upcoming showcase's lineup is unknown, some recent rumors suggest at least one Atlus game could make an appearance during the broadcast. Both Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio were previously rumored to be coming to the Switch 2, but neither have been announced yet. Ubisoft has recently also hinted at working on a Switch 2 port of Assassin's Creed Shadows, which is another potential candidate for appearing during the 25-minute showcase. Most of the games featured in the upcoming Partner Direct—the first such broadcast since late August 2024—are likely to hit the market before the end of 2025.
