  • New Animal Crossing scenes include various wake-up sounds and visuals on the Clock Alarmo.
  • The Alarmo has other popular Nintendo themes available and potential future updates.

The Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo has finally added scenes from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons have been asking for this theme to be added for quite some time, and it's available now via a free update.

The Nintendo Alarmo, like so many other Nintendo products, has been wildly popular, to the point that Nintendo had to change its plans on distribution in Japan due to overwhelming demand. While a number of Nintendo classics have been available on the device from the start or added via updates post-release, Animal Crossing was strangely absent. This surprised some buyers, as Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been wildly popular on the Nintendo Switch, so it seemed like a strange oversight.

Animal Crossing Alien Villager Type for Switch 2 Game
Animal Crossing: One Wacky Villager Type Would Be a Logical Progression for the Next Game

One unusual villager could be the next logical evolution of Animal Crossing, and New Horizons may have already hinted at its arrival.

Those fans can now wake up to the sounds and sights of Animal Crossing, as Nintendo has revealed that a new update is available that adds scenes based on the game to the device. Nintendo Alarmo owners will need to connect the device to the internet and make sure that their Nintendo accounts are connected in order to download the update. The update is free, though, and Alarmo no longer requires a Nintendo Switch Online account, so users don't have to worry about spending more money.

What Does the Animal Crossing Nintendo Alarmo Update Include?

As with other themes available on the Nintendo Alarmo, the Animal Crossing addition comes with a variety of wake-up sounds to use. These include Isabelle leading group stretching, Dodo Airlines, Brewster's cafe, the fishing tournament, K.K. Slider, the grand opening ceremony of Nook's, and the rescue service from Mr. Resetti. During the clock's idle period, fans of Animal Crossing can look forward to seeing the Nook trio or Blathers standing on top of the time.

Those who aren't interested in Animal Crossing still have a lot to enjoy on the device. Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Splatoon, Pikmin, Ring Fit Adventure, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Super Mario Bros. Are all available on the device as well. Nintendo is highly likely to continue dropping updates in the months to come, perhaps adding some other missing favorite franchises, like Metroid. For those who don't own an Alarmo but still want to doze to their favorite Nintendo tunes, the Nintendo Music app features a larger variety of games and has time-extending features that make it a good option for falling asleep with. There are also a number of playlists available that are designed to be suitable for various activities, including studying or sleeping.
