The ideas of procedurally generated realms and the lore between the Fae and humanity are enough to ignite a sense of curiosity in players but to create an engaging survival experience; there is still much Nightingale needs to do to fill up the rest of the adventure. This includes combat, exploration, interaction with NPCs, and of course, puzzles.
In between gathering all sorts of materials from the natural world and defending your estate from invaders, there are going to be opportunities to solve environmental puzzles in the Fae realms in exchange for certain rewards. For players who are stumped by the Bastille of Intellect puzzles in Nightingale, here's how to solve them and get your prize.
Is Fishing Worth It in Nightingale?
While players will need to fish in Nightingale for a few specific crafting ingredients, it's debatable whether the activity is worthwhile in the end.
How to Solve Bastille of Intellect Puzzles in Nightingale
When approaching the structure out in the wild, what needs to be done in order to solve the puzzle may appear confusing to the player. However, there is a hint that can be gotten from the map. When hovering over the icon of the Bastille of Intellect, the game explains that by following a sequence, players can unlock the path forward to the rewards lying within.
That will make it obvious that such Bastilles are musical puzzles, where players must replicate a sequence that is played out at the start. Successfully completing the process will unlock the Bastille and make it possible to reach the Puzzle Core within.
The start of the sequence begins after the crystals all glow red. Following this, only one crystal will light up at a given time, so be sure to take note of the order in which they emit light. Once the entire sequence loops back to the red glow, it is time to repeat what you have seen in order to solve the puzzle. And depending on the Bastille itself, the difficulty and sequences of the puzzles will differ, so don't expect the same degree of challenge in the different realms.
Solving a Bastille of Intellect will likely reward players with a Hope Echo, as well as a Favor, which is a temporary buff that can help you out further on your adventures.
