In a survival game like Nightingale, players will have to get used to the idea of having multiple resources and currencies to keep track of. Crafting and building the estate will require all sorts of materials that can be gathered from the world, trading with NPCs will require payment, and it is always nice to be able to help out a friend in need via trading.

Farming Essence Dust in Nightingale

There are various ways that players can obtain Essence Dust in the game. Harvesting materials can sometimes drop paltry amounts of Essence Dust, as will Nightingale's combat, where defeated foes can also drop the valuable item.

However, the best source of Essence Dust by far is from the actual harvested materials itself. Most, if not all items that are in a player's inventory can be disposed of by either dropping or, more importantly, extracted. Choosing the former option turns something unwanted into Essence Dust instead, which is a nice surprise.

With this knowledge in mind, it makes perfect sense for players to give in to their tendency to hoard items. Nightingale's various biomes are always going to have an abundance of base materials, such as fibre and rocks, and it is very easy to grab tons of these items while on the move. It then becomes an easy task to extract Essence Dust from the items that can easily bolster your existing collection in a quick fashion.

How to Use Essence Dust in NightingaleFarming Essence Dust in Nightingale

The collected Essence Dust is useful in many ways. In Nightingale, repairing items uses Essence Dust, so you can always make sure your tools, weapons, and armor are in pristine condition. Essence Traders also deal in the resource in exchange for valuable blueprints and the like, and if you are hoping to increase your gear score quickly, get to an Upgrade Bench and use the Essence Dust to improve your equipment.
