How Gear Score is Calculated in Nightingale

The way gear score is calculated in Nightingale is using the assortment of equipment that the player has on at any given time. This includes:

Main weapon/tool
Headgear
Coat/gear
Backpack/cloak/poncho
Shirt
Pants
Gloves
Boots

The combination of these eight equipment items will determine your final gear score, so it makes sense to improve your equipment as soon as possible.

How to Increase Gear Score in Nightingale

After the initial batch of new gear items that can be crafted to get players on their feet, the next major chance to improve the gear score is after obtaining the Simple Upgrade Bench blueprint that can be purchased from the Essence Traders. With the blueprint in hand, collect the required ingredients of four Lumber, two Ingot, and three Twine and place the completed Simple Upgrade Bench somewhere safe at the base.

Interact with the object, and a menu will come up that allows players to choose the gear item they want to improve. Depending on the item, it will require a varying amount of Essence, which will translate to enhanced attributes and stats. The rarity of the item will also be improved, and from the uncommon tier onwards, infusion slots will also become available for more powerful buffs.

As players continue to craft new gear and then improve them, their gear score will gradually increase, making it possible to take on harder challenges and quests that will further open up the world of Nightingale.
