These accolades further cement the title's place as the highest-rated game release of 2024, with many players and critics applauding Astro Bot's overall charm and environmental design. Astro Bot Wins Game of the Year at the 14th Annual New York Game Awards

In December 2024, Astro Bot won the coveted Game of the Year award at The Game Awards 2024, beating out major players like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and the beloved indie hit Balatro. In an interview held shortly after the presentation, Nicolas Doucet, the director of Astro Bot, stated that he didn't expect to win the coveted award, also noting that he remembered very little of his acceptance speech due to his overwhelming shock.

Astro Bot added the holiday-themed Winter Wonder DLC in December 2024 as a gift for players. Recent rumors have pointed towards more DLC coming to Astro Bot in 2025, with a recent social media post implying that a Tekken crossover may be in the works. Additionally, during a recent PlayStation Tournaments XP event, a new speedrunning level for Astro Bot was featured in the finals, though it's unclear when this will be added to the game. Given the title's incredible and long-lasting success, fans are eager to find out what Team Asobi has in store this year.
