If there’s one thing nicer than a brand-new gamepad, it’s a new custom or uniquely colored controller. Microsoft has a huge line-up of colored Xbox Series X controllers from the new Deep Pink to the Robot White, but even then, sometimes owners still want a little more flair in their controller.
It can be hard to get some of the coolest gamepads out there, as these are often limited to sweepstakes like the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness custom Xbox Series X console and controller. But there’s always something somewhere to look for, and for Star Wars day, Razer has revealed a custom Xbox Series X controller based on Stormtroopers.
As seen below, Razer has revealed its new Stormtrooper controller and quick charging stand. Its design takes after a Stormtrooper’s helmet, with the eyes resting around the left thumbstick and A/B/X/Y buttons. There are a few other garnishes on the face side of the controller, all taken from the Stormtrooper’s general design. On the back of the controller, as well as on the front of the charging stand, is a full Stormtrooper helmet surrounded by the phrase “Imperial Stormtrooper.”
In terms of a Star Wars day reveal, the messaging is pretty on point for Razer. The controller isn’t available yet, but through the link in the tweet above, players will be able to sign up and be notified when this controller is available. How much stock it has, as well as how long/when it will be available, is still up in the air, but would-be consumers should be aware that this controller and charging stand are priced at $199.99
It's an officially licensed controller and accessory, so the price may be quite higher than an average Xbox Series X controller, but it might be worth it for many Star Wars fans. It’s far from the only thing Star Wars fans have to celebrate for the holiday, though. There is currently a Star Wars video game May 4 sale across many platforms, and an Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer also dropped today.
Fans will be able to check out Obi-Wan Kenobi later this month when it airs on Disney Plus, and it is believed that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will be revealed at Star Wars Celebration later this month. Hopefully among all of this, some fans will be able to get their hands on this controller too.
