With a big new update comes a wealth of new content to unravel, as New World: Aeternum thrusts players into a huge island full of dangers, an abundance of resources, and an array of different landmarks and settlements to explore. Not only is forging your own path encouraged, but it is actively rewarded through the allocation of Territory Standing Points.
Territory Standing Points are a key feature of this popular MMO and unlock important game mechanics that make exploring Aeternum significantly easier. With this in mind, players will benefit from finding out what Territory Standing Points are in New World: Aeternum and how to use them.
New World: Aeternum - Which Class Should You Pick?
Before embarking on their epic adventure, players must first decide which class, or archetype, they wish to play as in New World: Aeternum.
What Are Territory Standing Points in New World: Aeternum?
As players progress through the main story and the abundance of side quests in New World: Aeternum, they will earn experience points towards their character's progression, as well as their proficiency with their preferred weapons, and their reputation in the various regions throughout Aeternum. The latter is a unique feature to the game, and will impact how quickly you progress while exploring a particular territory, as well as what features are available to make use of.
Territory Standing Points are a reflection of the player's reputation within a certain region of the MMO New World: Aeternum. As you explore each new region, you'll start accumulating points for every enemy you take down, landmark you discover, and quest you complete. With these points, you can unlock the ability to buy a house, as well as assign greater bonuses to experience and territory standing points gained, and increase storage shed capacities, among other bonuses.
How To Use Territory Standing Points in New World: Aeternum
While players will find weapons mastery and upgrade points for their character in the Character section of the in-game menu, Territory Points are actually found on the game's map. Once you open the map, you can make use of your points by navigating to the option on the left side of the screen. In this section, you'll also find your current standing in all of the game's territories. Any regions that have a number next to them have points available to spend.
With the exception of the first tier, you will be given three options when upgrading your Territory Standing, all of which will give you a bonus in a particular area of the game. Your choice will generally depend on what you're prioritizing, but, in general, there's no real wrong answer. Most of the boosts will revolve around higher rates of XP acquired and storage space, so you can either focus on one particular area or opt for a more balanced approach.
