New World: Aeternum, a revamped version of the original PC-exclusive MMORPG New World, was first announced at the Summer Game Fest in June 2024. Aeternum shifts away from the traditional MMORPG style of its predecessor and incorporates more action-RPG elements, giving players more control over their characters’ actions, while focusing more on fast-paced combat.

While New World: Aeternum is scheduled to launch on October 15, 2024, Amazon Games have decided to conduct an open beta test. This beta will allow players to try out a portion of the new gameplay mechanics, content updates, and quality-of-life improvements introduced in Aeternum before its official release. New World: Aeternum open beta dates

The open beta for New World: Aeternum is scheduled to take place from September 13 to 16, 2024, starting and ending at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM UK.

You can begin pre-loading the game on September 11 at 9 AM PT. Thankfully, there are no specific requirements to join. All you have to do is simply log in to your preferred platform and download the game when it’s ready.

Available Platforms And Regions

The New World: Aeternum open beta is only available in North America, South America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific regions. Players can download and join in on the adventure on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Interestingly, cross-play will be available during the Open Beta, so Xbox, PlayStation, and PC gamers will be able to play together. The only problem is, all progression from Open Beta will be wiped at the end of the test and will not carry over to the full release.

With the exception of PS5 players in Germany, you don’t need an online subscription for Xbox and PlayStation to play in New World: Aeternum Open Beta. However, once the game officially launches, all players will need an online subscription to continue playing.

While Open Beta progression will be capped at level 30, you can explore the Eternal Isle, join Factions, and level up your character to earn exclusive rewards that will be available to you when the full game releases on October 15.
