The Fire Staff inflicts smoulder and disease when leveled up, and it has some of the best burst attacks to weaken and stagger the enemy.

It has a good range and works well in mid to long-range attacks. Players can use it in close combat, too, but it can get awkward and confusing when trying to aim a fireball at such close range. This is where the secondary weapon can come in. Gauntlets are a good pairing for players who want to focus on mage-type builds, but it is worth not overlooking the Rapier.

While the Fire Staff can hold enemies off with the AoE attack, Meteor Shower, and slow them with Incinerate, if they get too close, the player can use the speedy Rapier to wipe them out. The Fire Staff works well with a lot of other weapons, especially any mid-to-close combat weapons like a Blunderbuss or Sword.
