Playful Studios confirms plans to release New Super Lucky's Tale on PS4 and Xbox One. New Super Lucky's Tale is the Nintendo Switch version of Xbox One exclusive Super Lucky's Tale with several new features.
On Twitter, Playful Studios announced that New Super Lucky's Tale would be "coming soon" to PS4 and Xbox One, but didn't reveal the release date. One of the biggest questions is how close it is to Super Lucky's Tale and if it provides much that's new or different. Playful said that it has "rebuilt the game from the ground up" with new levels, more story, and "improvements to nearly every other aspect of the game" which almost makes it like a completely new game.
Another question asked by several fans in response to the announcement is whether New Super Lucky's Tale will be available on Xbox Game Pass, and if there will be some sort of discount for those who also own Super Lucky's Tale on Xbox One. In March 2018, Xbox Game Pass did get Super Lucky's Tale, so it's not unreasonable to think that the new release could also come to the subscription service. However, a discount seems unlikely.
The PS4 and Xbox One release of the game helps to make 2020 a very good year for platformer fans. In March 2020, Moon Studios released Ori and the Will of the Wisps while Little Nightmares 2 has been confirmed for a 2020 release.
