As announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live, open world sci-fi RPG Starfield will be getting a brand-new update tonight (August 20) that will add the REV-8 land vehicle to the game. Bethesda's Starfield was one of 2023's biggest games. And while it may not have been as hotly received as some of the studio's other titles, there are still many dedicated players who continue to explore the game's gigantic open world.

Between its dizzying amount of content and unique spin on New Game+, Starfield's base game already gives players plenty of bang for their buck. However, Bethesda has released multiple updates post-launch that have added even more content and addressed fan feedback. Luckily, there's even more Starfield content to look forward to in the very near future.

Starfield will be adding its long-awaited land vehicle in a new update that will drop later tonight. The REV-8 will give players a brand-new way to explore Starfield's many planets, complete with a boost that lets players traverse trickier terrain. It's unclear exactly how Starfield players will be able to get the REV-8 in the game, but that information should come to light soon after it's added. But while Starfield fans have the REV-8 to look forward to tonight, they will also want to mark their calendars for September 30.

Starfield Trailer Confirms DLC Release Date

Shortly after Starfield confirmed the REV-8's release date, it also pulled the curtain back on the Shattered Space DLC release date as well. Starfield fans can look forward to playing through the Shattered Space DLC expansion on September 30. Not much has been revealed about Starfield's Shattered Space DLC just yet, but it's been teased that it will have much more of a horror vibe than the base game. It's also believed that House Va'ruun will be heavily featured in Shattered Space, but fans will just have to find out for themselves when the DLC launches on September 30.

It's worth pointing out that while the Starfield base game is available to play through Xbox Game Pass, the same can't be said for the Shattered Space DLC. Those that purchased the Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade ($34.99 for Game Pass subscribers) will be able to get Shattered Space at launch. Individual pricing for Shattered Space is unavailable at the time of this writing, but fans can expect finer details like that to be announced in the days and weeks leading up to the expansion's launch on September 30.
