Reiji Miyajima is best known for creating Rent-A-Girlfriend, which has been serialized since 2017, and doesn't seem to be reaching its end. But at the same time, he is also writing another series, The Shiunji Family Children. But while Rent-A-Girlfriend gets weekly chapters, Shiunji Family Children is published in a monthly magazine (and has been through some hiatus).

Shiunji Family has been running in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine since 2022, compiled into 5 volumes so far. Yen Press licenses it in the US. Back in February, an anime adaptation of this manga was announced.

Rent-A-Girlfriend is a great romcom and there are a lot of awesome anime that are similar if you're looking for something else in the same vein.

Now, new information has finally been revealed. The first trailer was dropped, slating the series for April 2025. The video also previews the ending song, "LIKE YOU LOVE YOU?", perfomed by Chika Anzai (who voices Banri), Marika Kono (who voices Seiha), Rie Takahashi (who voices Oka), Hana Hishikawa (who voices Minami) and Kana Ichinose (who voices Kotono) — these characters are sisters in the story.

Other cast members include Yuichiro Umehara (Manabu Horikita in Classroom of the Elite) as Arata Shiunji and Chiaki Kobayash i (Louis James Moriarty in Moriarty the Patriot) as Shion Shiunji.

Shiunji Family Main Staff

The studio Doga Kobo is animating the series. Ryouki Kamitsubo (HenSemi) is in charge of the direction and Noboru Kimura (Solo Leveling) is writing the scripts. Miki Mutou is the chief animator and also the character designer. Akki, Ginnojo Hoshi and Shota Horie are in charge of the music.

Plot Premise

The story revolves around the wealthy Shiiunji family. When the youngest sister turns 15, their father reveals that these siblings are actually not blood relatives. And this might change how Arata Shiunji, the eldest son (and someone who has never had a girlfriend), relates with his sisters (and we know where it goes).

The Shiunji Family Children has no international release confirmed so far. Crunchyroll streams Rent-A-Girlfriend.
