Gamescom 2025 is one of the biggest gaming events of the year, if not just straight-up the biggest. Throughout these couple of days, the world will watch as new games are unveiled or known projects are expanded upon through footage or fresh data. Honestly, this is just an exciting and fun time, and the opening night included plenty of huge announcements that helped put the upcoming year into focus.
A small challenge of these types of events is that it can be difficult to quickly confirm which games will be coming to your chosen system, be it the PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series, or PC. To help make this process a touch easier, let's highlight all the PlayStation 5 games revealed during Gamescom 2025.
Updated on August 22, 2025, by Mark Sammut: A few more PS5 games revealed at Gamescom have been added.

Game Science's Second Entry In The Black Myth Franchise

Black Myth: Zhong Kui has technically not confirmed which consoles it will launch on, since it is still too early for that. However, Game Science's FAQ page states the game will launch on "PC + All Mainstream Console Platforms," which should include PS5 (provided it is not delayed for a decade).
Arguably the biggest surprise announcement of Gamescom's opening night, Game Science has revealed Black Myth: Zhong Kui, the project that will follow up Wukong. Now, to be clear, this does not seem to be a direct sequel, and the game's official FAQ page makes it clear that Zhong Kui is still very early in development and has a long way to go. Cast as a god who catches ghosts, the upcoming game will explore Chinese mythology once again, while providing a different gameplay experience to the action-packed Wukong.
BPM: Bitcrushed
Top-Down Shooter
- Release Year: 2026
- Developer: Awe Interactive
- Platform/s: PC and consoles
- Genre/s: Top-Down, Shooter, Roguelite, Dungeon Crawler
BPM: Bitcrushed is a top-down shooter with roguelite elements. By the developer behind BPM: Bullets Per Minute, the upcoming release marks a pretty substantial shift in presentation and gameplay, although the appeal should be largely the same (relentless action).

This is not a drill. Bubsy 4D marks the bobcat's long-awaited return to the 3D platformer genre, with his previous outing happening back in 1996. Bubsy 3D does not have the greatest reputation, so there is a pretty good chance that the upcoming title will, at the very least, be better than the franchise's first attempt to introduce an extra dimension.

A ridiculously cool platformer(?), Denshattack puts you in charge of a runaway train, where you must pull off epic skills to collect points and put your rivals to shame. The concept is cool, and the visuals are vibrant, akin to something like Jet Set Radio.

- Platform(s)
- PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC
IllFonic largely specializes in asymmetrical games. The developer's most famous outing is probably 2017's Friday the 13th: The Game, although its most recent project was Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game. The latter did not garner a great reception, but ILLFonic is set to return to the genre by covering arguably the grandfather of the slasher genre: Halloween. The upcoming PS5 game will pit four survivors against one Michael Myers, with players taking charge of all five roles.

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam will have 6 game modes and 6 maps.

Bitmap Bureau specializes in arcade-style throwbacks, mostly focusing on the beat 'em up genre. Battle Axe and Final Vendetta were both decent attempts at capturing the magic of yesteryear, and the upcoming He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction looks set to be the developer's most exciting project to date. The combat seems to be fairly typical for the genre, but the He-Man makeover should separate it from the crowd. The game will feature 12 stages and an array of playable characters beyond the eponymous powerhouse himself.

TT Games is returning for a new Lego adventure, and the Caped Crusader is back in the hot seat. Once again, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will challenge players to protect Gotham City while taking on arguably the most famous Rogues Gallery in comic book history. Not too much has been revealed about this game so far, although the combat seems to be specifically inspired by the Arkham games. Legacy of the Dark Knight features an open-world, and it seems to also cover a long span in Bruce Wayne's life.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight already looks like the ultimate celebration of Batman, with its reveal trailer containing a ton of references.

While it had been rumored for a few weeks, CI Games confirmed the existence of Lords of the Fallen 2 at Gamescom. Following up a decent first game that survived a rough launch, the sequel should build upon a strong foundation, hopefully setting the stage for what should be one of the best PS5 Soulslike games of 2026. Not too much has been revealed about LOTF2, although it should look great.

Nightdive can always be relied upon to revive a classic game, and the developer has set its sights on 1997's Outlaws, a first-person shooter set in the Wild West. The remaster will not only modernize a single-player campaign that follows a U.S. Marshal who goes on a mission to save his kidnapped daughter, but it will also include extensive multiplayer modes that even support crossplay.

A pretty surprising Gamescom 2025 announcement, Road Kings is a truck-driving simulator from Saber Interactive, the developer behind SnowRunner. That connection means that the company is well-versed in bringing to life realistic sims that challenge you to master the road and your vehicles, and the upcoming game looks quite impressive and should be the subgenre's first real "new-gen" experience. Going by the description, players will step into the seat of a driver who is trying to build their reputation and portfolio, and the courses seem inspired by the Florida-Georgia border.
Serial World
RPG Monster-Collector Roguelike

Son of Thanjai takes inspiration from Indian culture, teleporting players to the empire of Thanjavur and casting them as a king trying to live up to his role and his father's reputation. While not too much has been shown so far, the gameplay appears to revolve around a whip/sword called the Suruivaal.

A rare project based on the Voyager TV show, Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown has the potential to be among the more interesting attempts to translate the franchise into video game form. Promoted as a survival strategy game that is also story-driven, Across the Unknown puts players squarely in the hot seat as they manage the U.S.S. Voyager's resources and make decisions that alter the course of history.
Swords of Legends

- Aurogon Shanghai
Full disclosure, but Aurogon Shanghai has technically not confirmed that Swords of Legends will be coming to the PS5. On the official website, the game is just confirmed for "PC and consoles." That said, it is a fairly safe bet that the latter includes the PlayStation 5. Swords of Legends will not be coming to mobile devices.
GuJian, one of China's most popular RPG franchises, is finally set to make its global debut with the upcoming Swords of Legends. The 2020s are steadily marking a turning point for Chinese-developed games, allowing them to reach an international market rather than staying within the country's borders. The upcoming project looks set to have gorgeous UE5 visuals, smooth action that blends melee and magic, and a story-driven campaign. Also, Swords of Legends does not have Soulslike combat, nor will it take place in an open-world.

Square Enix and Artdink's Triangle Strategy has been available on the Nintendo Switch and PC for a couple of years. During Gamescom, the publisher not only announced PS5 and Xbox Series versions but also made the games available immediately. A throwback to old-school tactical JRPGs, Triangle Strategy is a good entry in that subgenre.

Valor Mortis sounds really exciting on paper, and pretty novel as well. One More Level, the team behind Ghostrunner, is putting together a first-person Soulslike that drops players in the middle of the 19th century, casting them as one of Napoleon's soldiers. Naturally, you die and wake up to find the world overrun with a plague, causing monsters to spread far and wide.

- La Divina Commedia – An exciting dark fantasy action RPG that takes inspiration from Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy, Jyamma Games has only confirmed a PC release so far. That said, the official site mentions "Other Platforms TBA," so a PS5 version could be on the cards.
