Pokemon Legends: Arceus released in 2022 and was considered by many to be a breath of fresh air for the Pokemon franchise. It did away with the established formula and took things in some bold new directions.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus released to strong reviews and was a commercial success, so many fans have been keeping their fingers crossed that Game Freak would revisit the concept at some point down the line. The conditions of the current meta along with its Ability make Hisuian Typhlosion a suboptimal pick in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is the title of the next Pokemon Legends game. Set in the Kalos region, last seen in Pokemon X and Y, the CG trailer for the game teased a handful of the Pokemon that will be featured and revealed that the plot would either be about building Lumiose City or rebuilding it. Since Pokemon Legends: Arceus was set in the past, many have assumed that the same will hold true for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but the trailer also used some futuristic imagery that suggests it could be set in the future. Ultimately, Pokemon fans will have to wait for more official details to be sure.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Trailer

In the meantime, it was confirmed that Mega Evolutions are coming back in Pokemon Legends Z-A, as evidenced by the use of the Mega Evolution symbol in the trailer. It's possible that there are other clues hidden throughout the trailer, and so it will be interesting to see if fans discover anything else. Fans may want to turn their attention to the Pokemon Legends: Z-A logo, as there's one interesting choice that may have some kind of implication about what fans can expect about the game.

For some reason, the Pokemon Legends bit in the logo is in black and white. This seemingly points to Pokemon Black and White, which were set in the Unova region, yet the new game is clearly set in Kalos. Perhaps Unova will also a play a role in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, or maybe the black and white logo means nothing.

Prior to the Pokemon Presents, there were consistent rumors that Pokemon Black and White remakes were in the works, but such projects weren't announced. Regardless, Pokemon fans have two new projects to look forward to after the Pokemon Presents: Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket and Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
