Atlus just dropped its newest trailer for Persona 5 Scramble, the latest in a series of Persona 5 spin-off games. The Shin Megami Tensei publisher has been riding the popularity of the Persona series to take spin-off games in some new directions, and Scramble is no different. This action-packed anime trailer is as stylish as Persona has ever been.
The new Persona 5 Scramble trailer features all of the characters and the art style fans of the original Persona 5 fell in love with. A good chunk of gameplay is shown, and the title appears to be striking a nice balance between the frantic action of Omega Force's usual style and the summon-based combat that the Persona series is known for. This trailer is the one of several that Atlus plans to release to hype up Persona 5 Scramble over the course of the upcoming weeks.
For players that wish to learn more about Persona 5 Scramble, it is a Dynasty Warriors style hack-and-slash action game that is a narrative follow-up to Persona 5. It is being developed by Dynasty Warriors developer Omega Force in collaboration with P-Studio, Atlus's internal team of developers that make the mainline Persona games. The game is set for release in Japan on PS4 and Nintendo Switch later this year.
While Persona 5 Scramble does not yet have a release date in the West, it would make sense to see it announced soon considering the recent surge in popularity the series has been seeing in North America and the UK. This surge is demonstrated by the fact that Persona 5 sold over 10 million copies worldwide, and Persona has indeed grown to be Atlus's top brand in the West.
For players that may not be interested in Persona 5 Scramble, Persona 5 Royal, the expanded version of Persona 5, will be releasing in English on March 31, 2020. This expanded release appears to be similar to what Atlus did with Persona 4 Golden, and considering that the original release of Persona 5 is already quite long, Persona 5 Royal should keep fans occupied for a considerable amount of time.
Persona 5 Scramble will release in Japan on February 20, 2020 for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
