Summary
- Genshin Impact may get an Animal Crossing-inspired spin-off in the future.
- It's unclear when this title will come to fruition, but several well-known leakers have pointed towards its existence.
- HoYoverse recently announced a new Honkai title inspired by Pokemon.
According to a recent leak, Genshin Impact could be getting a spin-off title inspired by Animal Crossing, as HoYoverse continues to grow its franchises. Between Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, it's clear that HoYoverse isn't one to rest on its laurels after the overwhelming success of Genshin Impact. As seen from the many Flagship Events in Genshin Impact, the developers are interested in fiddling with a lot of different genres.
Some of these minigames have eventually spawned permanent content in Genshin Impact, with the most recent example being the Repertoire of Myriad Melodies. However, there exists a more ambitious spark at HoYoverse, as the company recently unveiled a new Honkai title inspired by Pokemon. While the teaser did not reveal the new game's name, HoYoverse told its fans to "stay tuned" for more information.
Genshin Impact Officially Reveals First Half Banners for Version 5.6
Genshin Impact confirms the full slate of characters for Version 5.6, as three exciting 4-Stars will accompany Navia and Escoffier in the first half.
In a similar vein, there are rumors circulating in the Genshin Impact community that a spin-off title is being developed by HoYoverse, seemingly inspired by Nintendo's Animal Crossing. This information has been shared by both hxg_diluc and Seele Leaks, which further adds to its legitimacy. The leak also provided "Genshin Impact: Thousand Stars Domain" and "Genshin: Thousand Planets" as potential names for the new title.
HoYoverse Could Be Making a Genshin Impact Game Inspired by Animal Crossing
It should be noted that the Animal Crossing project could be a different game entirely, as earlier leaks point towards the project having "Astaweave Haven" as its title. However, given the timeline of the rumors, there is a strong possibility that this new project will indeed take place in the Genshnin Impact universe. As a concept, the genre could allow different Genshin Impact characters to shine, especially NPCs and lore figures such as Enjou, Jeht, or Xbalanque. Players should temper their expectations, as it may likely be years until the project comes to fruition.
The project could end up being a valuable addition to HoYoverse's portfolio of games, especially given the popularity that Genshin Impact accumulated over the years. Teyvat is a beloved setting, and Genshin Impact shows no signs of slowing down as it sets the stage for Nod-Krai, a region that will almost entirely focus on tying up loose ends. While players haven't been too happy with the way Genshin Impact handled map expansions in Natlan, the community remains excited to see Skirk, Dahlia, and Mare Jivari. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until Version 5.8 for Mare Jivari, but Skirk and Dahlia should be available when Version 5.7 launches on June 18, 2025.
