Two of the most popular characters from The Witcher 3 are officially making their way to Fortnite. The battle royale's announcement may be less of a surprise for many players, particularly considering that rumors already surfacing online about an upcoming Fortnite collaboration with The Witcher franchise. Either way, the new additions to the game are bound to entice fans both of both Fortnite and The Witcher 3.Over the years, Fortnite has collaborated with numerous popular IPs ranging from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the artist Marshmello. More recently, the battle royale unveiled its collaboration with Nike with its Airphoria event where players would experience Nike-themed gameplay. The event functions similarly to the NBA Creative Hub Challenge from 2021 and includes a unique set of cosmetics and collectibles. Now, on the heels of the Nike partnership, it appears Fortnite is revisiting another popular franchise in the form of The Witcher.RELATED: Cyberpunk 2077 Adding Witcher Content for Some Users Titled "A Tale of Two Tempests," the latest collaboration will bring Ciri and Yennefer from The Witcher 3 to the battle royale. In addition to the skins for both characters, Ciri's bundle will include her sword Zireael as both a Harvesting Tool and Back Bling, along with a Basilisk Glider. Meanwhile, Yennefer's bundle will be complemented by her Megascope Harvesting Tool, a Bird Skull Back Bling, and the Black Wings Emote. The set of items will be available for players starting June 23 at 7 AM ET, though Fortnite is yet to specify how long these will remain on the Item Shop.

The partnership likely comes as part of promotional efforts for Netflix's upcoming season of The Witcher which is scheduled to release the first part on June 29. Previously, Geralt appeared in Fortnite within the Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass less than two months after CD Projekt Red launched the next-gen update to The Witcher 3. Similar to Ciri and Yennefer on Fortnite, Geralt's in-game skin was accompanied by a unique set of items tied to the character.

While The Witcher franchise has been one of the most popular IPs in recent years, it remains to be seen how the new collaboration will work in favor of pushing the appeal of the Netflix series, especially amid Henry Cavill's departure from playing Geralt. Regardless, the announcement would come as welcome news for Fortnite players, particularly those who have been looking to add Witcher-themed items and cosmetics to their gameplay.

Fortnite is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
