The upcoming indie dating simulator Date Everything lets players do exactly what its title implies; go on dates with practically everything they can see. Date Everything comes from developer Team17 and is set to release on the Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series, and Steam, though there is no official release date as of yet.

Team17 announced the game with a short trailer featuring a 2D animation sequence that leads into the game's fully 3D world and shows off many of its unique character designs, all of which are based on various household items. The trailer's description also lists some of its voice actors, including Ray Chase and Robbie Daymond, known for portraying Noctis and Prompto in Final Fantasy XV.

Quirky Dating Sims Are All the Rage

This would be far from the first time that a dating simulator with a somewhat unusual premise gained the spotlight online, however, as the pigeon-themed sim Hatoful Boyfriend once made waves alongside Doki Doki Literature Club, notorious for its psychological horror elements. Meanwhile, another Japanese studio partnered up with an insurance firm to make a dating simulator based on avoiding life insurance policies.

Given the viral nature of many of these games, it may come as no surprise that a game like Date Everything would have a devoted following even before its release, as fans flocked to YouTube comments to express how amused and excited they were for it to release. Fortunately for fans, the game seems bent on getting players to stick with it for a while, as it has a catalog of every dateable character for players to complete, like the Pokedex from Pokemon.

There is currently no set release window for Date Everything, but the game has reportedly been in the works for several years, so it seems likely that fans will get to experience it fairly soon. The game does appear to be skipping over the PS4 and Xbox One, however, as the trailer only confirms a release on the PS5, Switch, Xbox Series, and PC.
