Urban Fantasy RPG Neverness to Everness Revealed With a Gameplay Trailer

Its latest project was unveiled on July 16 in the form of Neverness to Everness. Pitched as an open-world supernatural RPG in an urban setting, the newly announced title is presently in the works at Tower of Fantasy developer Hotta Studio. The Chinese company is building it using Unreal Engine 5, and promises to offer support for a variety of modern technologies such as Nvidia DLSS upscaling and frame generation, as well as ray tracing. In terms of actual gameplay, Neverness to Everness aims to deliver open-world exploration and combat packed with quests and collectibles. Some of these elements can be glimpsed from its first extended gameplay trailer attached to Perfect World's latest announcement.

The game's combination of an anime art style and open-world RPG gameplay has already prompted some Genshin Impact comparisons on social media. The similarities between the two might not end there, as Neverness to Everness appears to have a sizable character roster, which could point to it being a gacha game. That theory is further substantiated by its list of target platforms, which include mobile devices, as well as the fact that Neverness to Everness will be a free-to-play title. Prospective players can pre-register for the game on Perfect World's official website.

The publisher has yet to commit to a concrete release window for Neverness to Everness. But the company did promise to share more information about the game come September 2024. In the meantime, Neverness to Everness has been confirmed to feature a variety of activities beyond combat, like buying and decorating a house or purchasing and modifying sports cars. Racing missions will also be part of the package, as will the ability to manage businesses and engage in many other "urban" activities.

It's currently unclear whether Neverness to Everness will offer any kind of multiplayer elements. Although Perfect World is best known for developing and publishing big-budget MMO experiences, what little has been shared about its latest game so far mostly points to it being single-player-focused. The reveal of Neverness to Everness marks the publisher's first new game announcement of 2024, arriving a year after Perfect World unveiled One Punch Man: World, which hit the market back in January.
