Lately, the nostalgia associated with playing classic games has been consuming the gaming industry, and Nintendo's NES Classic and SNES Classic have both played a massive role in this consumption. With the addition of Nintendo Switch's NES Online library, Nintendo continues to feed off of gamers' nostalgia, and this week, gamers will receive three more classic NES games.

Even though Nintendo's online service, Nintendo Switch Online, only launched two weeks ago, gamers craving the nostalgic feeling of playing their favorite NES games on Nintendo Switch have been begging for more games. 20 classic games, including Super Mario Bros. 3 and The Legend of Zelda, launched alongside Nintendo's new service, but fans are left wondering why some other games, such as Mega Man 2 and Final Fantasy, have not been added. Although the library lacks many classics that fans wanted at launch, Nintendo has announced that it will release three new games every month, and the first three will be added next week.

Despite the service's current, lackluster NES library, fans of Mario sports games will be pleased to know that NES Open Tournament Golf will be one of the three games added to the service next week. Alongside it is the classic puzzle game, Solomon's Key, as well as Super Dodge Ball. Metroid fans have November to look forward to as Metroid, Mighty Bomb Jack, and TwinBee will also be added. In December, Wario's Woods, Ninja Gaiden, and Adventures of Lolo will all appear on the new library. While Nintendo has only announced the games being added through December, gamers can expect many more classics to follow in 2019.

Nintendo's online service has come during the golden-age of gamer nostalgia, so the addition of the NES Online library is no surprise. As the NES Classic and SNES Classic's sales begin to slow down, Nintendo has found another way to continue the nostalgic cash grab. Although, Nintendo could have easily set the price for Nintendo Switch Online much higher than $20, so the addition of the NES Online library was a nice touch. Compared to Sony and Microsoft's online services, Nintendo Switch Online provides essentially the same features, at a much lower price. However, the Nintendo Switch does lack in competitive online games, and the online capabilities are seemingly dominated by games such as Splatoon 2 and Rocket League.

NES Open Tournament Golf, Solomon's Key, and Super Dodge Ball will be available on the NES Online library on October 10.
