NBA 2K25 released Update 1.5, fixing various issues reported by the community that mainly impacted the MyCareer and MyTeam game modes. A few weeks after the official release of NBA 2K25 on September 6, developer Visual Concepts continues to bring updates to its basketball game to fix bugs and improve the overall user experience.

NBA 2K25 is the latest version of the popular basketball game published yearly by 2K. NBA 2K25 brought various improvements over NBA 2K24, from improved player models and animations to the new Dribble Engine that provides more control over ball movement. This new entry in the series also enhanced graphics and lighting thanks to ray tracing, although this feature is only limited to The City so far. Last but not least, NBA 2K25 drastically improved opponent AI on both offense and defense, giving players more challenge when playing the game solo.

NBA 2K25 Update 1.5 fixed various issues that users reported to Visual Concepts, especially in the popular MyCareer game mode. This update resolved a bug that prevented advancement during the offseason in MyCareer and improved the stability of this game mode. It also removed a 1.5x REP bonus that was linked to certain clothing items in MyCareer, letting players level up faster and collect better rewards while wearing specific items.

MyCareer is one of the most popular game modes available in NBA 2K25 for those who enjoy playing solo. Players can create their ideal NBA player, select their role in the team, improve their stats while playing matches, climb to the top of the league, and hope to eventually win the NBA championship ring. On top of customizing their character, players can pick their favorite jump shots or dunk styles in NBA 2K25 to further tailor their gameplay experience.

While this new entry in 2K’s basketball series brought some improvements over the previous opus, some players expressed their disappointment with NBA 2K25 as they felt like this new game didn’t bring anything new to the franchise. Some NBA 2K25 players aren’t happy about the shot meter, preferring the old system from NBA 2K24 rather than the new arrow meter. Others complained about the use of Denuvo DRM, intended to prevent unwanted tampering with the game but leading to hindered performance and dropping frame rates. Overall, NBA 2K25 received generally favorable reviews, and developer Visual Concepts keeps on providing updates to further improve its basketball game.
