How To Alley Oop in NBA 2K25

First, a player needs to watch for their teammate to enter the painted area underneath the hoop . At that point, they will need to double-tap Triangle/Y, depending on the kind of controller they're using. This will cause their character to lob the ball up.

Then, they will need to press Square/X (or press down on the right stick of the controller) in order to have the other character catch it and dunk it through the hoop.

It's always helpful to set up a screen before trying to pull off an alley oop so that the target character will have an opening to drive toward the basket. This is a player's best bet to create an opening to perform the alley oop as it should be done and cause the defense to be caught on their heels. That's right: players don't just have to settle for tossing up an alley-oop to another character; they can also throw the ball up and bounce it off the backboard to then jump up themselves and dunk it. This can be done just as simply as the standard Alley Oop.

In order to pull this off, a player needs to press X+O/A+B when entering the painted area beneath the basket. After this is done to toss the ball up, then they can press Square/X or press down on the right stick. This will have the player go up and take the ball home themselves.

This move is best done in a 1v1 situation where there won't be too many defenders, making it more difficult to pull off.
