How to Complete Your Passion Project in NBA 2K26
After completing the introductory MP: Out of Bounds storyline in NBA 2K26, you'll unlock Passion Projects as a part of your first big NBA questline. You'll work through a few projects, like recruiting for a club league, and you'll eventually start working on a basketball anime.
Merchandising Tier 6 requires you to completely finish your Passion Project before you can move on, however. Even if you've completed the Anime Recruitment quest, the game will still say you haven't completed your Passion Project. That's because there are actually multiple parts to the Anime Recruitment quest. They just don't show up all at once.
After you visit Open Court Athletics for this Passion Project, the game will say "Quest Completed." That's only the first part, though. To unlock the rest, you need to continue your career and play more key NBA games. After a few more matches, you'll get an in-game text that unlocks the next part of your Passion Project. If you don't have any new quests, just keep playing NBA games until something pops up.
Playing Open Run games can also trigger the next quest step to appear if NBA career games aren't working for you.
Once you've recruited both Tyrese Maxey and Karl-Anthony Towns for your anime, you'll finally be done with that Passion Project. You can then continue with the Merchandising questline in NBA 2K26 to earn more VC and other rewards. If it still isn't showing as completed for you, then remember to keep playing key NBA games or other matches to force your quest log to update.
