The Naruto franchise debuted more than fifteen years ago, has it managed to produce two of the best shonen anime of all time. The franchise mainly focuses on Naruto, a young ninja who dreams about becoming the Leaf Village's Hokage, and must fight powerful villains along the way. Like every other ninja, these villains are all incredibly skilled fighters, and many of them could use unique jutsu.

When an anime is as popular as Naruto, it will usually recieve the movie treatment. The Naruto franchise, though, is special, which is why there are eleven movies. Each movie tells its own story, and each has a surprisingly dangerous villain. All of these antagonists are strong in their own way, but some are far more threatening than others.

10 Ishidate – Naruto the Movie: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom

Ishidate Facing Kakashi

One of the biggest misconceptions about Sakura is that she is useless and weak. However, that is not entirely true, seeing how well she was able to hold her own in the third movie against this villain.

Ishidate was a mercenary ninja who was exiled from his homeland, and he was eventually hired to kill the King and Prince of the Land of the Moon. He specializes in close-range Taijutsu combat, and he utilizes an odourless gas which weakens his opponent's senses and reaction time. Additionally, he uses a special gauntlet which allows him to control stone, and he can also use it to petrify any living thing he touches.

9 Yomi — Naruto Shippūden the Movie

Yomi Controlling His Subordinates

There are a lot of powerful forbidden techniques in Naruto. Yomi spent years developing a dark and forbidden type of medical ninjutsu, in order to accomplish his goal of resurrecting a demon named Mōryō. Yomi's clan has followed this demon for generations, and at one point, a clan member tried to use Mōryō to take over the world.

The plan failed because a priestess intervened, and that priestess' daughter then becomes a target that Naruto and his friends must protect in this film. Yomi controls a group of four ninja, and uses his dark medical skills to enhance their chakra. It's up to Naruto and the others to stop them.

8 Mukade — Naruto Shippūden the Movie: The Lost Tower

Mukade A Sand Village Missing-Nin

Many consider Minato to be one of the strongest Kage in the series, but he is also Naruto's father. The two got to meet and work together in Shippūden' s fourth movie, when Naruto and his team were tasked with capturing a rogue ninja named Mukade. Mukade wanted to travel to the past on order to use an ancient chakra source to take over the ninja world, a source that had been sealed away by Minato himself.

Mukade knew how to use the puppet technique, and was able to control an entire army of puppets. He turned himself into a human puppet with multiple weapons, making him a powerful enemy for Naruto and his friends to contend with.

7 Muku — Naruto the Movie: Blood Prison

Muku After Attacking His Father

The fifth Shippūden movie starts off with a failed attempt on the Raikage's life, for which Naruto ends up getting framed. For his alleged crime he gets sent to Hōzuki Castle, otherwise known as the Blood Prison.

Mui is a Grass Village jōnin who serves as Hōzuki Castle's master, and his goal is to open the Box of Ultimate Bliss in order to get his son back. When Mui's son, Muku, returns, he immediately attacks his father. It is revealed that Muku's mind has been corrupted by a demon named Satori, which has made him immensely powerful. Muku is able to use Satori's powers, which enable him to fight against Sage Mode Naruto.

6 Shinnō — Naruto Shippūden the Movie: Bonds

Sasuke and Naruto have always worked well together, and their great teamwork came into play during the final fight of the second Shippūden movie as they fought Shinnō. As this movie's main villain, Shinnō wanted to unlock the power of the Zero-Tails in order to dominate the world.

Shinnō eventually combines his Body Revival Technique with dark chakra, and doing so allows him to obtain a superhuman body. This allegedly gives him the ultimate body, as he is apparently able to use all Eight Gates without repercussions. It takes a combination of Naruto using his Nine-Tails chakra and Sasuke using his Curse Mark to ultimately defeat him.

5 Hiruko — Naruto Shippūden the Movie: The Will of Fire

Hiruko Using Dark Release

Kakashi has a lot of jutsu and techniques at his disposal, but it was his Sharingan that made him Hiruko's target in the third Shippūden movie. Hiruko was once a Leaf shinobi, but he was forced to flee the village when his research was discovered.

Hiruko developed the Chimera Technique, which allowed him to steal kekkei genkai like the Sharingan from other people by fusing their bodies with his. This allowed Hiruko to use Swift Release, Dark Release, Storm Release, and Steel Release, all of which were exceptionally powerful.

4 Menma Uzumaki — Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie

Menma Enraged While Facing Naruto

The sixth Shippūden movie involves Naruto and Sakura getting transported to an alternate dimension, where Naruto's parents are alive while Sakura's are dead. Many familiar characters look and act very differently in this dimension, and Naruto's name in this universe is actually Menma.

The "real" Menma is the villain of the movie, and he is the Jinchūriki of the Dark Nine-Tails. He can release the full Nine-Tails, and summon nine masked beasts that are capable of taking on the alternate universe's Akatsuki. Menma may not use most of Naruto's best jutsu, but he can create a dark spiraling ring that works somewhat like a Rasengan.

3 Toneri Ōtsutsuki — The Last: Naruto the Movie

Boruto Toneri With The Tenseigan

The Last: Naruto the Movie takes place two years after the Fourth Great Ninja War, and it is the only movie that is officially canon. The main villain is Toneri Ōtsutsuki, a member of the branch family that lived on the moon. He is the last living member of the branch family, and his goal is to destroy humanity for weaponizing chakra.

Toneri possessed the Byakugan, but he had his eyes sealed when he was a child. He was able to obtain the Tenseigan, which allowed him to enter a mode similar to Naruto's Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.

2 Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki — Boruto: Naruto the Movie

1 Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki — Boruto: Naruto the Movie

Ōtsutsuki always travel in pairs, and Kinshiki was actually the lower ranking member of his duo. The higher ranking member was Momoshiki, who possessed the Byakugan and a pair of Rinnegan in the palms of his hands. These Rinnegan allowed him to absorb chakra-based attacks that he could then fire back at his opponents with more power.

Momoshiki ends up eating Kinshiki to absorb his power, and transforms into a monster with even more strength. Naruto and Sasuke are able to fight Momoshiki easily, even though they must to use most of their combined strength to do so.
