Naruto: The Strongest Female Ninjas In The Series

Naruto fans met dozens of skilled ninja over the course of the series, and they all specialized in some form of ninjutsu, genjutsu, or taijutsu. The majority of the ninja who appear in Naruto are men, but there are plenty of female ninja as well. The strongest female ninja can match and/or surpass their male counterparts in skill, and a number of these women can easily be regarded as some of the strongest ninja in history.

These female ninja come from various villages, and many of them possess some sort of Kekkei Genkai. Several of Naruto's strongest female ninja have held the rank of Kage, and some of them have a significant advantage because they have access to a Tailed Beast's chakra and power.

10 Pakura

A Deadly Taijutsu & Kekkei Genkai User

Pakura was a famed ninja from the Hidden Sand Village, in fact many of her fellow villagers viewed her as hero. Kabuto recognized her skill and resurrected her during the 4th Great Ninja War - where she fended off a master swordsman like Omoi with just a kunai.

Pakura was feared because she possessed a deadly Kekkei Genkai and exceptional taijutsu skills. Scorch Release allowed her to create heat orbs that would kill and mummify whoever they made contact with. During the war, Pakura killed dozens of allied shinobi by combining Scorch Release with taijutsu.

9 Chiyo

An Experienced Puppet Master

Chiyo is arguably the best medical ninja that the Sand Village has produced. She created many deadly poisons during her lifetime, and only Tsunade was able to counter them. Chiyo was also a master puppeteer and the former leader of the Sand Village's Puppet Brigade.

Chiyo was 73 when she fought Sasori, and she was still able to match his Puppet Technique. She used the Chikamatsu Collection - a group of ten puppets that possessed powerful ninjutsu, taijutsu, and weapon techniques. Chiyo could control all ten of these puppets at once, and they allowed her to fight Sasori's 100 puppets.

8 Sakura Haruno

One Of The Best Medical Ninja In The World

Many Naruto fans dislike Sakura, but no one can deny her strength. She was trained by Tsunade - one of the Leaf Village's Hokage - and she has developed incredible medical ninjutsu skills as a result. Sakura is now one of only two medical ninja who can use Mitotic Regeneration to instantly heal during battle.

While training with Tsunade, she learned to focus chakra into her fists. This skill gives her monstrous strength and punching power. Sakura was able to destroy many of Sasori's best puppets on her own, and she held her own against Shin Uchiha. She was even able to injure Kaguya Otsutsuki with one of her punches.

7 Konan

The Only Female Akatsuki Member

Konan was the Akatsuki's only female member, and she was one of the organization's founding members. She was trained by Jiraiya, and she developed her own fighting style that incorporated her love of origami. This Dance of the Shikigami allowed Konan to transform her body into pieces of paper that she could control. Her paper was strong enough to overpower Jiraiya's Fire Release.

Konan was a Kage-level ninja with a very keen intellect. She came up with a plan to counter Obito and his intangibility, and it would have worked if Obito had not reversed his own death with Izanagi.

6 Fu

The Former Jinchuriki Of The Seven-Tails

When she was alive, Fu was arguably the strongest ninja in the Hidden Waterfall Village. She was the Jinchuriki of the Seven-Tails - which means that she had access to its vast chakra. It is unknown how much control she had over her Tailed Beast, but she could use a partial transformation to give herself wings. This gave her great maneuverability in combat.

Fu could blind multiple enemies at once by exhaling a special powder from her mouth, and she could trap multiple targets with a spider-like web. She was trained by the head of the village - which explains her battle prowess. She may have been a Jinchuriki, but she specialized in surprise attacks.

5 Yugito Nii

The Former Jinchuriki Of The Two-Tails

Yugito was a Jonin from the Hidden Cloud Village, and her skills were so great that even Killer B looked up to her. She was able to trap Hidan and Kakuzu in a sealed room to cut off any escape routes - which proves that she was a decent strategist. Yugito could produce special blue fireballs that would pursue her target and explode on contact.

She was a dangerous taijutsu user because she could turn her finger and toe nails into sharp claws. She was the Jinchuriki of the Two-Tails, and she had the ability to fully transform into the Tailed Beast. She was not a Perfect Jinchuriki, but she was in full control during the transformation.

4 Kushina Uzumaki

A Former Jinchuriki That Can Restrain Full-Tailed Beasts

Kushina was the second Jinchuriki of the Nine Tails, and she possessed an especially powerful life-force because she was part of the Uzumaki Clan. She had immense chakra reserves and vitality, and she could access the Nine-Tails' chakra at any time. When she was younger, Kushina could not control how much chakra was released, but she gained control later on.

Like other members of the Uzumaki Clan, Kushina specialized in Sealing Jutsu. She was one of the few Uzumaki who could use the Adamantine Sealing Chains - which were strong enough to fully restrain the Nine-Tails when it was at full power. These chains also create a barrier that even the 3rd Hokage could not pass through.

3 Kurotsuchi

The Best Genjutsu User Of The Current 5 Kage

Kurotsuchi is the granddaughter of the Stone Village's 3rd Tsuchikage, and she succeeded him when he retired. She protected her grandfather during the Five Kage Summit, and she defeated dozens of White Zetsu during the war with her Earth Release.

She used a special type of Lava Release which allows her to create Quicklime - a cement-like substance that is strong enough to temporarily restrain a weaker Otsutsuki. As the Tsuchikage, Kurotsuchi is considered the Stone Village's strongest ninja, and out of the current Five Kage, she is the best genjutsu user.

2 Mei Terumi

A Kage With Two Effective Kekkei Genkai

Mei Terumi was the 5th Mizukage of the Hidden Mist Village, and she worked tirelessly to steer her village away from its bloody past. She also re-established diplomatic relations with other villages. During the 4th Great Ninja War, it took dozens of Mist ninja to counter Madara Uchiha's Flame Release, but Mei could extinguish his flames with a single jutsu.

She is one of the only ninja capable of using multiple Kekkei Genkai. She can use Lava Release to produce an acidic type of mud that is designed to melt through just about anything. With Boil Release, Mei can create a corrosive mist that is strong enough to melt through a Susanoo's armor.

1 Tsunade

The Strongest Medical Ninja In History

Tsunade is a descendant of the Senju and Uzumaki Clans - which explains her powerful life-force and physical energy. She is one of the legendary Sannin, and she was named the Leaf Village's 5th Hokage. In terms of raw physical strength, Tsunade is the strongest Hokage. She can wield Gamabunta's massive sword like a toy, and she can break through a Susanoo's armor with her fists.

Tsunade is still considered the strongest medical ninja in history. She has mastered the art of Mitotic Regeneration - a technique that instantly heals any damage she sustains during battle. Tsunade was able to fght the great Madara Uchiha for half a day without getting tired, and she survived multiple direct hits from his Susanoo.
