While Boruto is great, it certainly isn't enough for most Naruto fans, especially as the Boruto series isn’t universally liked. Now, however, the four special episodes of Naruto have been reportedly completed, as recent news has revealed. This is huge, as this extra content has been in the works since 2023.

These episodes were supposed to drop in 2023 for Naruto’s 20th anniversary, but obviously, that never happened. This upset many fans, but nevertheless, the episodes are finally done. Now, fans are just waiting for the Naruto episodes to be released.

When Will the New Naruto Episodes Release?

A Release Date Will Be Made Known Soon

While it’s great that the four extra Naruto episodes are reportedly done, it raises a huge question for fans—when are these episodes dropping, exactly? For now, nobody knows when that will be, but it should be soon, since production is reportedly complete. That said, fans will have to be patient, as it might still be some time before they’re aired. Above all, fans of the Naruto series will be delighted to know that this anime will transport them back to the events before Shippuden took place, giving them a much-needed break from the dull and gloomy Boruto era.

The Naruto manga ended in 2014 after 15 years of serialization. Both the original Naruto manga and the Shippuden manga can be found to read on Manga Plus, as well as its successor’s manga, Boruto. Meanwhile, the anime ended a bit later in 2007, for the original series, while the Shippuden anime ended in 2017. Both of these anime can be watched on Crunchyroll.
