This post contains spoilers for Naruto.
Masashi Kishimoto is venerated as one of the greatest manga authors of all time, and why wouldn't he be? After all, he is the creator of Naruto, a manga that has sold more than 100 million copies. People who have read Naruto know that Kishimoto deserves a lot of praise for his efforts.
Naruto: Kishimoto Reveals A Big Concern About Boruto
Kishimoto is somewhat concerned about Naruto's sequel, Boruto.
In fact, people still sing his praise even though the manga ended nearly a decade ago. Kishimoto has always strived to produce a story that will always be remembered, and it's safe to say that he has accomplished his goal. However, the author did make some mistakes along the way—some more damaging than the rest.
Kishimoto Nearly Forgot About Naruto's Goal To Become The Hokage
- Kishimoto disrespected Naruto by making him miss the ceremony
- After the story ended, an insight into Naruto's reign as the Hokage would have been a good choice
Since the beginning of the series, Naruto Uzumaki's goal has been to become the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. He fought a multitude of dangerous opponents to save the village from being destroyed. When fighting didn't work, Naruto tried using his words to get the message through. While some fans may ridicule it, there's no denying its success.
And My Future Dream Is To Be The Greatest Hokage!
After conquering one enemy after another, Naruto finally reached the point where his path was clear, and nobody stood in his way. All that was left was for Naruto to become the Hokage and accomplish his lifelong dream. Unfortunately, that's when Kishimoto dropped the ball and demolished Naruto's biggest moment. Following the conclusion of the Fourth Great Ninja War, Kakashi Hatake was named the sixth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf, which was an understandable choice as Naruto was still too young. So fans were hoping that Naruto's big moment would come before the story ends and that it would immortalize the hero.
Naruto's Big Day As The Hokage Was Ruined
When the day finally came for Naruto to be officially named the Seventh Hokage, Kishimoto made arguably the biggest blunder of his life. For some unexplained reason, Kishimoto thought it would be better if Naruto missed his own ceremony. So, the author made Himawari knock out her father, leaving him incapacitated for hours.
To make matters worse, Konohamaru had to use transformation jutsu to morph into Naruto. There was absolutely no reason for Kishimoto to do this to Naruto, especially when the hero had been waiting for the moment all his life. Naruto is a humorous character, but it is poor writing on Kishimoto's part to shoehorn comedy at such a pivotal time in the story.
Kishimoto Didn't Cover Naruto's Reign As The Hokage
If ruining Naruto's ceremony wasn't enough, Kishimoto decided to give fans absolutely zero insight into the hero's reign as the Seventh Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. All the years of blood and sweat, yet fans didn't get a glimpse of how Naruto managed the village and brought peace to the entire world. Before Naruto, the entire ninja world was in disarray, and villages were constantly trying to cause problems for each other. It would have been an excellent idea to release a few extra chapters to show how Naruto dealt with the problem.
Unfortunately, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations wasn't the solution either. Since the manga focused on the new generation of ninjas, Naruto was out of the spotlight. Just a few arcs into the manga, Naruto was removed from his position as the Hokage. He was sealed away and placed far away from the spotlight. While Kishimoto isn't fully involved in the Boruto manga, there's no denying that he holds a certain degree of influence. So, he can guide Ikemoto in the right direction.
Naruto Needs To Make A Comeback In Boruto
As previously stated, Naruto Uzumaki is not currently involved in the story, but that needs to change soon. The sales of the manga are plummeting, and there is little to no interest in the anime either. Long-time Naruto fans don't like the Boruto manga, as it has mistreated their beloved hero and several other characters from the old era. The anime adaptation in particular is lackluster and has been rebuked several times by viewers.
Aside from a few good episodes, Studio Pierrot mainly released filler content that had absolutely no importance. While the anime won't be fixed anytime soon, Ikemoto and Kishimoto can fix the manga. They can bring back Naruto and other characters, which is bound to increase fans' interest in the story. Unfortunately, there has been no update on Naruto and Sasuke's returns, but hopefully, that will change in the coming months.
