Naruto's Dream Was To Become The Hokage

Naruto - Original Series

Since childhood, Naruto had only one goal, and that was to become the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. Every person he fought was an obstacle towards his dream, but he never gave up. What makes Naruto's journey more commendable is that he never fell prey to the darkness. He kept fighting it and rescuing others from their problems.

Initially, Naruto was an outcast who was mistreated by almost everyone in the village. They hated him and the Nine Tails, believing them to be the harbingers of disaster. Due to this reason, Naruto grew up alone without any friends. Thankfully, there were a few people who believed in him and kept him on the right track. Their support was important to Naruto, and without them, he would not have achieved what he wanted.

Naruto Worked Tirelessly To Achieve His Goal

  • Naruto defeated countless enemies
  • Fans deserved to see him achieve his goal in the main manga

After the Fourth Great Ninja War was over, Naruto was lauded as the hero responsible for saving the entire world from Kaguya's clutches. It felt that Naruto would become the Sixth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf, like Konohamaru had predicted in Part 1. However, Kishimoto had other plans for the hero. He opted to make Kakashi the Sixth Hokage and make Naruto the Seventh Hokage instead. Given Kakashi's popularity and his efforts in the different wars, it made sense for him to take over the reins of the village until Naruto was capable.

Many fans expected the series to end with Naruto becoming the Hokage, but the author decided to conclude it with the hero's wedding. It wasn't until the omake was released that fans got to see Naruto put on the new robes of the office. However, Kishimoto did something that caused massive outrage within the fanbase. In the omake, Naruto was supposed to attend the ceremony, where he was supposed to be named the Seventh Hokage, but Kishimoto made the choice to make the protagonist miss out. The chapter showed that Himawari knocked out Naruto, causing the latter to miss out on the ceremony.

Konohamaru Had To Step Up To Rescue The Ceremony

To stop the villagers from panicking, Konohamaru transformed into Naruto and attended the ceremony in his stead. Kishimoto's decision was irrational and unnecessary. Naruto worked hard for years to accomplish his goal, and the omake should have included his crowning moment. Instead, the author did something disrespectful. The shocking thing is that there was absolutely no need for Naruto to miss out on the ceremony. Many fans felt that Kishimoto had betrayed them, and they didn't hesitate to make their feelings known.

Naruto's Biggest Moment Should Have Been Covered In The Manga

Having An Omake Didn't Make Any Sense

Naruto's biggest moment should have been included in the main manga itself. It doesn't make sense to put it in the omake when, throughout the main story, Naruto's only desire was to become the Hokage.

Things became worse when Naruto was disrespected in the Boruto manga. He had just become the strongest ninja in history, but the enemies in Boruto ragdolled him without any problems. To make matters worse, the author decided to make Naruto lose the Nine-Tails. The two had been together for years, and fans were naturally upset to see them be separated.

Sasuke was also given the same treatment as he lost his Rinnegan. Since the manga is still ongoing, there is an opportunity for the author to redeem himself in the eyes of fans. Hopefully, he decides to act on it and give the hero the respect that he deserves.
