Sasuke Uchiha is the deuteragonist of Naruto, which is why he is in the spotlight so often. Naturally, Kishimoto paid a lot of attention to Sasuke and gave him all sorts of abilities, enabling the Uchiha to take down many mighty fighters. However, in some battles, Sasuke's abilities weren't enough, and he was left on the precipice of defeat.

Deidara
Affiliation: Akatsuki
- The fight should have ended in a draw at least
Deidara was the youngest member of the Akatsuki. He was scouted by the organization because of his immense handling of explosives. Deidara didn't want to join the Akatsuki, but he had no other choice after losing to Itachi. In the Akatsuki, Deidara improved his control over the explosive clay and other nature transformations.
In Naruto Shippuden, Deidara crossed paths with Sasuke Uchiha, and not long afterward, the two became engrossed in a bitter tussle. Credit where credit is due, Sasuke utilized his Sharingan expertly and completely outmaneuvered Deidara. However, Deidara wasn't willing to go down so easily. Deidara created microscopic creatures out of his clay that went inside Sasuke's body. Normally, this should have been enough to hand Deidara the victory, but Sasuke was able to overcome them. As a last resort, Deidara decided to use C3, a move that could wipe out almost everything within miles. Realistically, Sasuke should have died in the explosion, but Kishimoto came to his rescue.
Danzo
Affiliation: Hidden Leaf Village
- Sasuke should have been sealed away
Danzo proclaimed himself as the Hokage after Tsunade was exhausted during the attack by the Six Paths of Pain. Following the incident, Danzo went to the Land of Iron to join the other village leaders for the Kage Summit. He didn't have a clue that Sasuke was on his tail, and he wanted to eradicate him.

After several delays, Sasuke finally fought Danzo. The latter was overconfident because of Izanagi, as he believed that the power would rescue him from certain death. However, Sasuke outsmarted him and put him in a precarious position. Sensing that he was going to lose, Danzo used the Reverse Trigram Seal to lock away Sasuke. The Uchiha would have been caught in an attack if not for Obito's Kamui. Obito rescued Sasuke, causing Danzo's plan to fail miserably. While Sasuke had the upper hand, it's safe to say that the fight would have ended in a draw without outside interference.
Itachi Uchiha
Affiliation: Akatsuki
- Itachi let Sasuke win
Itachi Uchiha is one of the most adored characters in Naruto. Fans were already in awe of Itachi when he debuted, but their adoration towards him grew when his backstory was revealed. As the story progressed, it became increasingly obvious that Itachi and Sasuke were fated to fight each other.
When they finally began to fight, Itachi was holding back because he didn't want to kill his brother. However, Sasuke had no idea that Itachi was refraining from going all-out. Eventually, Sasuke was the last fighter standing, so by the rules, he was the victor. His excitement didn't last for long as Obito told him how Itachi didn't intend to kill his younger brother from the beginning. So, it's quite apparent that Sasuke should have never won the fight.
Killer B
Affiliation: Hidden Cloud Village
- Killer B was holding back against Sasuke
Killer B was the adopted brother of Lightning A and the jinchuriki of the Eight-Tails. From a young age, Killer B trained a lot to enhance his physical abilities and to gain better control over his tailed beast. Sasuke was always overconfident, so he rushed into the fight and shortly learned a tough lesson. Killer B was on top and would have killed Sasuke if it weren't for the other members of Taka. Things would have been much worse for Sasuke if Killer B hadn't wanted to make a secret getaway.
Kabuto Yakushi
Affiliation: Hidden Leaf
- Itachi saved Sasuke from humiliation
Following the death of Orochimaru, Kabuto became overwhelmed by his desire to be like his mentor. So, he went through Orochimaru's notes to learn about different techniques. He also traveled to the Ryuchi Cave to learn the Snake Sage Mode. After learning how to utilize the Snake Sage Mode, Kabuto surpassed Orochimaru and became one of the most dangerous individuals in the world. He even teamed up with Obito to start the Fourth Great Ninja War.
During the war, Itachi and Sasuke went to stop Kabuto because he was manipulating every ninja who was reanimated using the Impure World Reincarnation. Surprisingly, the fight was one-sided, and the two Uchiha brothers were clueless. So, Itachi was forced to use Izanami to stop Kabuto. If Itachi hadn't sacrificed himself, both of them would have failed to win.
