Most of the anime industry is dominated by shonen titles, but that doesn't mean enthusiasts can't explore other areas. Nana is one of the few non-shonen titles that has carved a name for itself. Unfortunately, the manga has been on hiatus for years, and fans have been ever so eager for its return. Finally, after a long wait, the author of Nana broke her silence on the manga's future.

Nana Will Return In The Future

The Nana Manga Is Bound To Come Back In The Coming Years

  • Nana manga is in the final phase
  • The manga has been on break for multiple years

Ai Yazawa, the author of Nana, spoke about the manga's potential return. She said that Nana is already in its final stages and the conclusion is almost decided. But she did confirm that the story could change in the future. Even though she didn't disclose a proper return date for the manga, one can't help but feel that it's a positive update.

Nana is one of the highest-rated manga series on MyAnimeList, and it's only supplanted by a few others. Nana tackles many real-life themes in a unique manner, which is why it has become such a hit. The popularity of the manga is reflected in the sales. According to the latest available data, Nana has sold more than 50 million copies, making it one of the highest-selling manga of all time. It's worth mentioning that the data is outdated and hasn't been updated in a while, so the number is likely higher.

Ai Yazawa Needs To Take Her Time With The Manga

Nana Manga Has No Return Date Yet

Ai Yazawa didn't share a return date for the manga, but it's inevitable that the series will make a return in the next few years. The manga was put on hiatus due to Ai Yazawa's failing health. It's not uncommon for mangaka to suffer from various health issues. Other popular manga authors like Eiichiro Oda and Yoshihiro Togashi have been suffering from ill health for years, and it has affected their work as well. Togashi, in particular, has suffered the brunt of years of hard work. He still suffers from health issues, and he is unable to work on Hunter x Hunter.

Eiichiro Oda's health is also suffering from poor health, and he's already started taking more breaks, but it's better if the author takes a long hiatus. It will help him recover and address the health complications. Hopefully, all three authors get some rest and come back stronger.

Nana is available to read on the Shonen Jump+ app.
