Summary

  • My Time at Sandrock now supports crossplay on Switch and PS5, expanding multiplayer options.
  • Sandrock Online emphasizes a sandbox experience with non-linear gameplay for up to 4 players.
  • Love Chronicles DLC enriched storylines and romance content for bachelors/bachelorettes in single-player mode.

Crossplay multiplayer support has finally been added to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 versions of My Time at Sandrock. This feature has been available to My Time at Sandrock players on the PC and Xbox Series X/S since June.

On December 19, Sandrock Online, which is the multiplayer component of Pathea Games' relaxing farming sim My Time at Sandrock, launched on the Switch. The mode was supposed to come to the PS5 on that day as well, but this release was delayed. When Sandrock Online went live on the PC and modern Xbox consoles earlier this year, a developer explained in a community post that the builds for the Switch and PS5 still needed to be optimized. Coinciding with the December 23 launch of Sandrock Online on Sony's system, a long-awaited multiplayer feature has also been released on the Switch and PS5 builds of My Time at Sandrock.

PM Studios, the co-publisher of My Time at Sandrock, announced in a new trailer that cross-platform multiplayer support has been added to the Switch and PS5 versions of the title. While Pathea Games described the single-player mode of its beloved RPG as being story-driven, Sandrock Online focuses on providing a nonlinear sandbox experience. Up to four people can participate in multiplayer, earning points for the Workshop Reputation system by, among other things, building, fighting, and dating My Time at Sandrock's many potential partners.

Does My Time at Sandrock Have Crossplay Support?

  • Yes, on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S

Love Chronicles, the latest DLC for Pathea Games' farming simulator, expanded the storylines of four My Time at Sandrock bachelors and bachelorettes, namely Fang, Logan, Mi-an, and Nia. A free update that was released alongside the expansion in October also introduced additional romance-related content for Amirah, Grace, Owen, Qi, Unsuur, and Justice. It brought new monsters, a bus system, and more features as well. The previous expansion for My Time at Sandrock, Monster Whisperer, introduced new tools to help with players' monster-hunting adventures. Both this and Love Chronicles can only be accessed in single-player.

In September, Pathea Games announced its next project, a post-apocalyptic open-world RPG titled My Time at Evershine. A Kickstarter for My Time at Evershine, which is set after the events of My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock, sought $200,000 from backers, but it managed to blow past that goal and raised close to $3 million instead. As a result of its successful crowdfunding initiative, My Time at Evershine is now fully funded, allowing Pathea Games to skip an Early Access launch on Steam and focus on a full release.
