My Hero Academia: Vigilantes - 7 Things Koichi Can Do That Deku Can't

For various reasons, there are just certain things that Koichi can do that Deku can't in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.

1

However, with the second season of Vigilantes already confirmed for 2026, fans won’t have to wait much longer to meet even more lovable characters from the source material. While so far it’s unknown exactly how much of the manga Season 2 is going to cover, it can be estimated that the following characters will be introduced in it, based on the final length of Season 1.

1 Monika Kaniyashiki

An Extravagant But Lovable Police Officer

  • Quirk: Scissors
  • Manga Debut: Chapter 31

Season 2 of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will kick off with the Osaka Incident Arc, meaning that viewers will get to meet Monika Kaniyashiki, a crab-themed idol who pilots a crab-shaped mech. In reality, she’s a police officer working undercover who’s investigating a major Trigger operation alongside Fat Gum.

Monika has a striking design and an over-the-top personality, but the most remarkable aspect of her character is her quirk, Scissors, which allows her to cut almost anything that’s placed between her fingers. She’s a major player in the Osaka Incident Arc, and most manga readers can’t wait to finally see her in action in 2026.

2 Taishiro Toyomitsu (Fat Gum)

This Beloved Hero Will Shine Once Again In This Spin-Off

  • Quirk: Fat Absorption
  • Manga Debut: Chapter 31

Since My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is a prequel, Season 1 has already featured many iconic Pro Heroes years before the beginning of the main storyline. However, most of them had very brief and non-involved appearances, with the only exception being Shota Aizawa AKA Eraser Head. Fortunately, however, Season 2 will finally right that wrong by reintroducing none other than the BMI Hero: Fat Gum.

While he already had a major role in My Hero Academia’s Shie Hassaikai Arc, he will get his chance to shine during Vigilantes’ Osaka Incident Arc, where he will join forces with Monika to infiltrate a Mascot Idol festival and stop a secret Trigger operation. Fat Gum will star in a few exciting fight scenes, meaning that he’ll be able to showcase his unique Fat Absorption quirk on-screen once again.

3 The Hotta Brothers

The Owners Of Hopper's Café

  • Quirk: Grasshopper
  • Manga Debut: Chapter 32

Something really cool about the second half of Vigilantes’ plot is that some of the Trigger-enhanced Instant Villains that Koichi and his allies take down eventually start going on a path of redemption, which was possible in part thanks to twin brothers, Ichiro Hotta and Jiro Hotta. After their initial encounter with Eraser Head, they become his informants and help him out in his quest to find and apprehend Trigger users.

The Hotta brothers eventually found and managed Hopper’s Café, a cat café where many reformed Instant Villains can work, like their friend, Kirihito Kamachi, and Teruo Unagisawa, both of whom were already introduced in Season 1. Aside from their importance to their plot and their friendly personalities, the Hotta brothers are also notorious for their shared quirk, Grasshopper, which allows them to turn into humanoid grasshoppers. This transformation is an obvious reference to the Kamen Rider series, so it’ll be fascinating to see how Bones will adapt it into the anime.

4 Hina

A Shy And Jealous Girl Working As A Secret Trigger Dealer

  • Quirk: Unknown
  • Manga Debut: Chapter 42

Something that makes the Villain Factory (the main antagonists of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes) so dangerous and despicable is the fact that they often interact with regular civilians and manipulate them into working for them. This is exactly what happened to Hina at the very beginning of the Sky Egg Arc.

She’s a college-aged girl who often acts shy and introverted, but she is profoundly obsessed with her close friend, Rin Yaritezawa, to the point where she feels jealous of anybody who interacts with her. This unhealthy obsession prompts Hina to work closely with the Villain Factory as one of their secret dealers. She plays a key role in the hilarious Mixer scene, which will definitely become one of the highlights of the upcoming second season.

5 Bombers

A Group Of Dangerous Explosive Villains

  • Quirk: Self-Detonation (and many others)
  • Manga Debut: Chapter 46

In the world of My Hero Academia, it is not uncommon for villains to create artificial super-powered soldiers that follow orders and help them spread chaos and destruction, like the Nomu that were seen many times throughout the main storyline. Of course, the Villain Factory also has its mindless minions, and they’re known as the Bombers.

These are bat-shaped mass-produced monsters with the ability to fly and who possess a quirk simply known as Self-Detonation, which, like its name implies, allows them to self-destruct any part of their bodies with a destructive explosion. And to make things even worse, some of them wield multiple quirks, like Regeneration or Radio Waves. The upcoming introduction of Bombers will be very important for the story, since they’re a major source of conflict during the fan-favorite Sky Egg Arc.

6 Pamela

Captain Celebrity’s Grumpy Wife

  • Quirk: Unknown
  • Manga Debut: Chapter 50

It was stated many times throughout Season 1 that the American Pro Hero, Captain Celebrity, had been involved in several cheating scandals back in his home country, and now his new Japanese manager, Makoto Tsukauchi, keeps him in check by repeatedly threatening to call his wife. Curiously enough, viewers will finally get to meet his wife in Season 2, during the Sky Egg Arc.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes - 8 Best Manga Covers, Ranked

The My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga features some truly stunning volume covers, with these being the most eye-catching of them all.

By

Her name is Pamela, and she’s a woman of short stature with a big attitude. To no one’s surprise, she’s quite temperamental, since she constantly has to deal with her husband’s stressful antics, like when he decided to show a photo of her minutes after she gave birth to their son to his audience. Despite her temper and their fractured relationship, the chemistry between Pamela and Christopher is surprisingly endearing, and her appearance in the story marks a major turning point for the Pro Hero’s character development.

7 Oboro Shirakumo (Loud Cloud)

Eraser Head And Present Mic’s Childhood Friend Who Later Became Kurogiri

  • Quirk: Cloud
  • Manga Debut: Chapter 59

At one point in the story of My Hero Academia, it was revealed that the villain known as Kurogiri was actually a Nomu made from the corpse and quirk of Oboro Shirakumo, a childhood friend of Eraser Head and Present Mic. Avid readers of the Vigilantes manga were quite shocked by this plot twist because at that point, the spin-off had already featured a long flashback detailing Oboro’s past and his tragic death.

While anime viewers sadly won’t get to feel that satisfaction, they will finally get to see how and why Oboro was turned into Kurogiri in Season 2, and it’s weird that this plot thread wasn’t explored in the main series. They will definitely fall in love with this character, thanks to his jovial personality, his versatile quirk, and his close friendship with Shota Aizawa, which will make his eventual death all the more heartbreaking.

8 Tenma Nakaoji (His Purple Highness)

One Of Japan’s Most Over-The-Top Pro Heroes

  • Quirk: Chest Hair
  • Manga Debut: Chapter 61

Back when they were U.A. High School students, Aizawa, Midnight, and Oboro worked in the Hero Agency of a respected Pro Hero known as His Purple Highness. This obvious Prince lookalike immediately stood out due to his flamboyant and eccentric personality, and he’s undoubtedly one of the most remarkable original heroes introduced in all of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.

While he was already very memorable in the source material, Season 2 of the Vigilantes anime has the potential to make him stand out even further, with the use of colorful animation and impressive voice acting. Additionally, it would also be great to finally see what His Purple Highness’ quirk, Chest Hair, actually does in battle, seeing as this was never revealed in the original manga.
