Vigilantes, the immensely popular spin-off series to My Hero Academia, introduces a ton of fun and interesting new characters, but that also means there's no shortage of unique Quirks that have been seen throughout Koichi's epic adventure. Because the original series already set the foundation of what Quirks are and how they can look in their most basic forms, it means the ones that debut in Vigilantes tend to be a lot more experimental and creative, making them a real joy to watch in action.

While there have already been countless debates about the strongest Quirks in the series, many of these special abilities are still beloved by fans because of how fun and unique they are, despite being weak in overall strength. With that being said, it's time to take a look at the very best Quirks introduced in My Hero Academia Vigilantes based on their design, creativity, and overall intrigue as abilities. Before jumping in, this list will contain spoilers up to the Sky Egg arc at roughly the halfway point of the manga.

8 Soccer

Soccer Combines Balance And Agility Into One Hilarious Ability

Soccer Quirk
  • First Appearance: Chapter 13

Emperor Yotsuura only gets to show off his Soccer Quirk a single time in the story after he tries to make a quick getaway after stealing Makoto's laptop, but it's still without a doubt one of the most bizarre and hilarious abilities in the series. As the name implies, the Quirk makes it so the user is always dribbling a soccer ball, making it easy for them to bob and weave around bustling crowds, as if they were sprinting past players on the pitch.

Emperor even used the Quirk as an offensive tool when he launched a ball at Koichi's face, easily launching him off his feet. While it would have been nice to have seen all the other flashy ways Emperor could utilize his unique Quirk, it nonetheless remains to be an ability which is hard to forget because of how out-there it is.

7 Leap

Pop Step's Adoring Fans Can Admire Her From Up-High Thanks To Her Quirk

Pop Step using her quirk in her show - My Hero Academia: Vigilantes
  • First Appearance: Chapter 1

There are plenty of air-based Quirks that have been seen in My Hero Academia, but most allow the user to stay in the air indefinitely. However, Pop-Step's is a little different, since it only allows her to leap into the air for a few seconds, but it still provides more than enough of a boost to send her shooting through the skies during a busy concert.

Though being able to awaken a Quirk in My Hero Academia is far from easy, it can drastically boost the power of the ability in question.

Pop's Quirk allows her to view the world from an entirely different viewpoint than everyone else, resulting in plenty of stunning scenes which show her sitting on a tall skyscraper or jumping close to the clouds. Leap complements Pop Step's bubbly and energetic persona, which she shows off plenty of times throughout the Vigilantes series.

6 Monster Cat

It Turns Out Quirks Really Do Come In All Shapes And Sizes

Monster Cat going on a rampage - My Hero Academia Vigilantes
  • First Appearance: Chapter 17

Though the Monster Cat only shows up for a brief scene near the beginning of the series when Koichi's mum is visiting town, it's become one of the most well-known among the fanbase for how downright bizarre it is. The Quirk itself comes from a cat who was injected with the trigger drug, making this one of the very rare instances of an animal using an ability, alongside Nezu in the main series.

However, the power itself doesn't seem all that strong or reliable, but it's still a standout for how weird it is. With the ability to merge with anything it touches, the cat decides to become a bus, with the only recognizable features being the piercing eyes and razor-sharp teeth. One thing is for sure: if the Quirk had a more reliable user, it could have caused a lot of mischief for the heroes to clean up, making it a really fun idea introduced early on in Vigilantes.

5 Slide And Glide

Slide And Glide May Have Started Off Pretty Useless, But Koichi Learns How To Make Good Use Of It

  • First Appearance: Chapter 1

Slide and Glide isn't exactly the most appealing Quirk out there. While Koichi initially struggles to control the speed of his ability, over the course of the series, after using it in numerous of his fights, he slowly comes to get the hang of how it works, though since it's an ability which is always changing and evolving, it ensures it never feels like a boring Quirk for the protagonist to have.

For example, while it starts off as a solely ground-based ability, Koichi eventually learned how it could be used to take flight and to attack villains, making it very versatile and jaw-dropping to watch in action when it's being used to full effect. Despite initially seeming like a pretty lackluster ability, Koichi proves that any Quirk can shine with enough hard work and patience.

4 Polygraph

Makoto's Quirk Makes Her The Ultimate Journalist

  • First Appearance: Chapter 13

Makoto's Quirk is one that, while not over the top or flashy, is still a fascinating technique that proves to be a big help for the user during her reporting endeavors. The way it works is that by making physical contact with a person, she can detect physiological signals to determine whether they are lying or telling the truth, which she first uses when trying to deduce whether Koichi was really The Crawler, or just a random kid.

An interesting Quirk will often be able to show a different side of the user in one way or another, and in the case of Polygraph, it emphasizes Makoto's slightly more devious persona, which feeds into her obsession with getting the next big scoop. Polygraph is used quite a lot throughout the series, and it's definitely an odd, but very memorable, new ability.

3 Overclock

There's Fast, And Then There's Overclock, An Absurdly Strong Quirk Which Has Changed Hands Multiple Times

O%27Clock_using_Overclock
  • First Appearance: Chapter 26

There's a fair amount of overpowered Quirks in My Hero Academia, with One For All and Decay being just a few examples, but Overclock might just be the craziest one yet. Previously owned by Knuckleduster before being stolen by All For One and gifted to Number 6, Overclock accelerates the speed of a person's brain, making the user feel like everything is in slow motion because of how fast they are able to move and analyze a situation.

This is a different kind of speed from the type seen with a character like Ida, who is able to physically move on the spot to reach a destination. With Overclock up and running, the user can know exactly what the opponent is going to do before they can even move a muscle. It can even be used to speed up the regeneration of cells when the user is injured, which is just one of the infinite ways this fascinating Quirk can be used in combat.

2 Queen Bee

A Creepy Unique Power Which Takes Over And Corrupts The Host

Kuin unleashes her swarm of bees - My Hero Academia
  • First Appearance: Chapter 5

Though Kuin may seem like an innocent schoolgirl when she first appears in the series, it's not long before she reveals her true identity as a villain, alongside her deadly AOE-based Quirk, Killer Bee. The way Kuin was able to infect a dozen people with Trigger through the use of her bees made it clear that whoever is being controlled by the bees at any given time is not someone to be messed with, considering they possess one of the fastest and most lethal abilities in the entire series.

What also makes this Quirk so interesting is how it connects to her body. Kuin actually has a hive located in her left eye, which is why she keeps it patched up all the time to avoid attention. The quick and dangerous Queen Bee ability is one of the most creative originals to come out of Vigilantes, especially because of the unique ways it was utilized by its hosts.

1 Cloud

Fans Get To See Oboro's Light And Fluffy Quirk Before His Eventual Transformation

Shirakumo generates clouds to fly.
  • First Appearance: Chapter 59

A lot of My Hero Academia fans were understandably a little confused when Oboro was mentioned late in the main story, considering he hadn't ever been referenced up to that point. The reason for this is that Aizawa's childhood friend was first introduced in Vigilantes, where he can be seen throwing out his Cloud Quirk on more than a few occasions. Despite being a pretty tricky Quirk to get the hang of, Oboro finds many unique ways to deploy the ability when in combat, such as being able to flank around his opponents from above, or defending a group of civilians from enemy projectiles.

What also makes Cloud so intriguing as a Quirk is how it will be used later on, becoming the basis of the Warp Gate Quirk, which he would come to use as Kurogiri. Oboro is able to showcase his uplifting Quirk in all its glory throughout Vigilantes, before he and his ability are eventually transformed into something entirely different.
