Kids using powers are bound to go overboard, but all the teachers do is let the violence happen without putting in too much effort to stop things. Barring a few instances where the power wielded by the students was too immense, U.A. Has been okay with letting promising heroes suffer injuries that they just fix with Recovery Girl.

Aizawa's Erasure Quirk is one of the most useful powers in the series. It can cancel out a Quirk as long as he keeps his eyes open, with blinking cancelling the Quirk negation.
While he has trained himself to keep his eyes open for an irrationally long time, fans can't help but wonder why he can't blink one eye at a time. It's clear that a single eye's gaze is enough to negate a Quirk's effects, and Aizawa should've mastered this simple trick to nullify any villain standing in his way.

When Midoriya meets Sir Nighteye for the first time, he is rightfully questioned as to why a Quirkless boy was chosen to inherit One for All. Most people agree that Mirio would've been a good fit for this Quirk, especially since All Might was familiar with this promising hero's power and thirst for righteousness.
Sure, Midoriya's natural heroism makes him a very good candidate, but he needed to train extensively to become worthy of wielding One for All, and even then, it was hard for him to use 100% of this power. A lot of these problems could've been negated by choosing a valid candidate like Lemillion instead.
