The My Hero Academia anime ended on December 13th, 2025. The eighth and final season of the anime had a total of 11 episodes, and each one was of the highest quality. In fact, My Hero Academia fans went on social networking sites after every episode to praise the anime. Now that the series has ended, there will be no more discussions.
My Hero Academia Has Ended, But Horikoshi Has Already Revealed Its Replacement
MHA is over, but its legacy is about to continue with this major upcoming new manga.
There's no doubt that emotions are running high within the My Hero Academia community, but fans can take solace in the fact that the anime has made history with its eighth season.
Every Episode Of My Hero Academia Season 8 Has A Rating Above 9 On IMDb
- My Hero Academia Season 8 has set a new record
- Every episode has scored a rating of 9 and above
Not many fans have noticed, but My Hero Academia Season 8 has actually set an incredible record. Every episode from the anime's final season has scored a rating higher than 9 on IMDb, a feat that not many anime can boast of. The success of MHA Season 8 is due to the incredible effort of Studio Bones.
The studio has produced all the seasons of My Hero Academia, and it has always tried to ensure that the anime's quality isn't compromised. However, it's safe to say that Bones stepped up its efforts for the final season. The animation was outstanding, and so were the visuals. Even the soundtracks were mailed to perfection.
Bones Played A Key Role In My Hero Academia's Success
While the studio did a fantastic job, there is no denying that the story it adapted had a huge role to play in its success. For that, Bones has to thank Horikoshi Kohei, the author of My Hero Academia. The anime's last season adapted the remainder of the Final War arc and the Epilogue arc. At the beginning of the season, fans were treated to several epic battles between the heroes and the villains. Midoriya and Shigaraki were obviously at the forefront of things. Once Midoriya and his friends had dealt the final blow to Shigaraki and the villains, the anime shifted the focus to the war's aftermath.
Even if the origin is a power meant to destroy, after you all risked your lives and added to it, it’s come to have another meaning. It might be that the only way to stop him is to kill him. I don’t know what I should do specifically yet, but... I want to save that kid.” —Midoriya
It covered the interactions between the characters who were standing after the intense fight. The anime also brought attention to the relationships between different characters, including Midoriya and Ochako. The finale of Season 8 gives readers an insight into what happened 8 years after the heroes' victory. Overall, My Hero Academia's eighth season was amazing, and it will be a long time before another anime can match its standards.
No New My Hero Academia Project Has Been Announced Yet
- No new MHA project has been confirmed
- Fans will have to wait to find out if there ever will be one
Since both the anime and manga have ended, My Hero Academia fans want to know if there will be a new project surrounding the series. Unfortunately, there has been no official news. As things stand, it's likely that My Hero Academia has ended and there will be no more projects.
However, it is worth mentioning that many authors have had a change of heart later, so Horikoshi Kohei might eventually decide to pick up the pen again and release a sequel or even a prequel to My Hero Academia. A lot of fans would personally prefer a prequel that focuses on the life of All Might, who was the Number 1 Hero and the Symbol of Peace.
All Might consistently finished in the top 10 of the popularity polls, which shows how much fans adore him. So, they wouldn't mind seeing a prequel with him at the center of attention. It could cover All Might's early life, his influences, and his relationship with different characters. The prequel could also show All Might fighting more enemies.
Shonen Jump Needs A Successor To My Hero Academia
As previously stated, the My Hero Academia manga ended in 2024. It was one of the most popular titles serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump. As a matter of fact, it sold more than 100 million copies worldwide, making it part of an exclusive list. Considering My Hero Academia brought in so much traction, Shueisha will want a new series to replace it.
Presently, there are two new heavy hitters in Shonen Jump. One is Kagurabachi, and the other is Ichi the Witch. Kagurabachi is an action-packed manga that follows Chihiro as he tries to recover the fabled swords crafted by his late father. Ichi the Witch follows Ichi's story as he goes against the odds and becomes a witch. Both titles are rather popular with readers, but neither of them comes close to My Hero Academia's fame. However, there is a good chance that it will change once the anime adaptations of the two manga are released.
Kagurabachi And Ichi The Witch Need An Anime To Get Close To My Hero Academia
At the moment, Kagurabachi is closest to getting an anime. Some reports suggest that the adaptation is in production at the Cygames Studio. However, fans should wait for an official update before getting their hopes up. There is no indication of Ichi the Witch getting an anime yet, but it will definitely be adapted sooner rather than later.
