This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia.
My Hero Academia fans have enjoyed the last few months of 2025 despite not having any manga content to look forward to, and much of that has to do with Kohei Horikoshi's incredible dedication to the world he created. Even though the story of My Hero Academia wrapped up over a year ago now, fans know very well that the series is still alive, not only because of the Final Season that's set to air soon, but also because Horikoshi keeps dropping more exciting information every now and then for the fans to enjoy.
My Hero Academia: Horikoshi Officially Reveals Izuku's One For All Replacement Power
Deku lost his quirk but instead gained a suit. Horikoshi reveals how this works in MHA.
This year alone, Horikoshi has revealed a new one-shot, a fanbook, an art book, and also done a whole exhibition for the fans to enjoy. Needless to say, a ton of exciting new information was unearthed across all these events. Curiously enough, Horikoshi also went on to reveal a ton of exciting information about some of the main characters of the story, such as Izuku Midoriya, the protagonist. In the latest My Hero Academia one-shot, Horikoshi revealed Izuku's latest Hero rank, and it is safe to say that fans are utterly shocked to see him having claimed the No. 4 Hero rank in Japan.

Deku Jumped Up The Rankings Quite A Lot
- Mirio still holds the No. 1 position
- Bakugo has climbed to the No. 5 position
At the end of My Hero Academia, most fans were largely disappointed due to Izuku losing the power of One For All. While all of his classmates ended up becoming Pro Heroes, Izuku Midoriya was left as a teacher in U.A. However, Horikoshi rectified this by giving Izuku a hero armor which allowed him to be a Hero once again. Thanks to his new Hero Armor, Izuku Midoriya could once again carry out hai duties as a Pro Hero, but at the same time, he made sure not to give up his job as a teacher in U.A.

In My Hero Academia's latest one-shot, it was revealed to the fans that in the latest ranking update, Izuku Midoriya had climbed up a lot. He is now the No. 4 Hero in Japan, something that not many fans expected. Before Izuku became a Pro Hero, he was hovering in the double digits, but wasn't actually posing a real challenge to anyone. With his Armor, he's clearly advanced a lot. In just a few months, Izuku has become the No. 4 Hero in Japan, and what's more, he's also left Bakugo behind, who currently sits in the 5th spot.

What Izuku's Evolution As A Pro Hero Means For The Future Of My Hero Academia
Izuku Midoriya Might Become The No. 1 Hero Eventually
Izuku Midoriya has shown incredible growth in a very short amount of time. This clearly means that he will continue to rise up the Hero rankings in Japan. If he rose to the position of No. 4 Hero in Japan in just a few months, then in a few years, Izuku could easily have risen even higher, potentially to the No. 1 spot in Japan, which is what fans wanted to see from him right from the get-go.
Of course, it won't be easy for him, especially with Bakugo right there with him, and with Shoto Todoroki competing for the No. 1 position as well, but needless to say, Izuku Midoriya has what it takes to claim the rank of the new No. 1 Hero of Japan.
