This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia's Final Arc.
Summary
- Deku jumped to Number 4 hero recently, surpassing Bakugo.
- Deku's hero armor is powerful and holds special, unseen abilities.
- Deku has potential to climb higher on the hero chart, aiming for the top spot.
My Hero Academia's Final arc concluded last year in the manga, and it has catastrophic consequences for Deku's future as a Hero, at least initially. Deku ended up losing the power of One For All, and it goes without saying that fans took a very hard blow when this was revealed in the story. Whereas Deku was already set to be the Top Hero in the future with the One For All, after losing it, his entire future as a Hero was in doubt.
My Hero Academia: Horikoshi Has Already Revealed The Next All Might, And It's Not Deku
All Might is the greatest hero of all time, and Horikoshi has already revealed the one who will rise to his level in MHA.
Thankfully, Horikoshi has already confirmed that Deku is still a powerful Hero, and he currently holds the Number 4 Rank in the Hero Billboard Chart, as confirmed by the most recent My Hero Academia one-shot. At the same time, fans also know that Deku holds far greater strength within him and that he'll eventually get even stronger.
Deku Jumped To Number 4 Hero Recently
- Deku Is Strong Thanks To His Hero Armor
- He Is Ranked Higher Than Bakugo
While fans knew very well that Deku has lost access to the One For All, it doesn't mean that he's weak. 8 years after the conclusion of the war, fans saw that technology had made great advancements in the world and this meant that the armor that All Might wore during the Final War has been improved upon greatly. Thanks to the help from the class 1-A students, especially Bakugo, and even All Might himself, a special armor was made for Deku.
Stand proud, young Midoriya! You've earned it! — All Might to Deku
This Armor is extremely strong and it allows Deku to be a Hero once again. Horikoshi also confirmed that it holds very special powers, the likes of which have not been seen in the world of My Hero Academia yet. Here's what Horikoshi confirmed about Deku's new hero armor in My Hero Academia:
Question: How does the armor that Deku received from Class A function?
Horikoshi: It tries to mimic various OFA abilities, for example, it has cable extensions that function like his ability Black Whip. It also serves as a prototype where he can try to combine various abilities.
More recently, in the latest My Hero Academia one-shot, Horikoshi confirmed that Deku has now officially become the Number 4 Hero. This means that he's in the same conversations as Mirio, Shoto, Mt. Lady, and Bakugo.

Deku Has Only Recently Become A Hero
It must be noted that while Deku is the Number 4 Hero, he has only held this position for a very short time, and even in that time, he teaches at UA during the day. Deku hasn't had enough time to climb higher on the Billboard Chart, and the rank of Number 4 Hero most certainly isn't his peak.
This is the story of how I became the greatest hero! — Izuku Midoriya
In fact, in the upcoming years, Deku is highly likely to grow even higher on the chart and start competing with the man who holds the Number 1 spot, Mirio Togata himself.
Will Deku Become The Number One Hero?
It is entirely possible that Deku will become the Number 1 Hero in the future of My Hero Academia. At this point in time, he is Number 4, and fans likely won't get to see another update from Horikoshi for quite a while. However, if an update on the Hero Rankings does drop, fans should fully expect him to grow higher, because his suit van copy One For All abilities, and that makes him a monster in combat.
Today Is A Big Day For My Hero Academia Fans
MHA fans should rejoice as major news was revealed today.
